The only angle that makes this "good" is because Bayern might want to try and recreate the same style they played under Pep and in their mind Kompany knows how to do it. Then again these "news" are bs. Clubs have a bunch of names in their shortlist. He could be number 20th on the list, and if a journalist gets a whiff of it, it'll be news.

Talks of getting rid of Tuchel are so unfair. Even Pep failed to go unbeaten throughout a single season at Bayern. Did Tuchel fail or did Xabi produce a once in a lifetime achievement. How many legendary managers at Bayern would have lost to Xabi Alonso this season.

It makes sense... Ex winners and recent players are the way forward. Arteta and Alonso have made this potentially viable. With backing, funds, and most importantly time (like Arteta got)... they could make him the next big thing. Could work beautifully for both parties.

That guy is a very good coach, sticks to his gameplan. Great offiensive play. Doesn't have the defenders unfortunately. I think he would bring in great motivation to Bayern and a clear strategy. Love the guy. I wouldn't have paid too much attention to him normally, but a collegue of mine is a life long Burnley fan.

So it's not that crazy when u think about it. You hire Kompany on a 1 year prove it deal, he ll likely take it to coach a big club with good quality and champions league exposure. If he does well Bayern looks like geniuses and this entire thing is forgotten, if he doesn't then u cut ties and they go after one the the big coaches they wanted all along that will likely be available next year, Klopp, Pep, or Alonso.

I think Arsenal hiring Arteta was crazier if you think about it: the guy had never managed in his entire life and then suddenly becomes the manager of one of the biggest clubs in the country. This is what happens when your MO is, each time you don't win the Bundesliga, you snatch the manager of the team which won and sign all their good players. As soon as Alonso declined, something broke in Bayern. They clearly had no manager recruitment strategy away from raiding their Bundesliga rivals. Now they're scrambling to find a manager and we're all being treated to this embarrassing spectacle.
