Watch for falling barrels.
This game features one of my favorite original soundtracks that I've ever heard, with Stickerbush Symphony being my favorite song of all time. David Wise is known for his work on the Donkey Kong Country series, and it was only a matter of time before I covered another of his pieces. This one plays in Barrel Bayou, as well as one or two other levels, I believe.
I initially didn't care for this piece, possibly because of the strange percussive buildup that, when combined with the various deaths and bonus rooms that interrupt a level's music, prevented me from hearing and fully appreciating the bulk of the piece. After giving it a listen outside of the game, however, I grew to adore it just as much as any of Wise's many other masterpieces.
In terms of the arrangement, I wanted to do a lot with this one because I had a lot of time to work on it. This, combined with my increasing knowledge of music theory, allowed me to implement many harmonies, counter-melodies, and a unique solo section, all of which I am extremely proud of and excited for you all to hear. I also added the percussive sound of a comb very lightly in the mix, which I take no credit for. This idea actually came from Burning Idol's own phenomenal cover of this piece, which I recommend you all check out.

winds are horribly out of tone

I wouldn't say horribly out of tune. But it is out of tune. Bass also has a sour note. The main bass part that goes |A--A|A--G| repeated, there's something very wrong with the G. This is assuming key of A.

Yes the winds need better tuning, but I still give mad props to a guy that's doing his own recording and playing like five different instruments.

Amazing cover and I love the free interpretation, but the flute is out of tune and its very audible in a few places.

I noticed some negative feedback about the tones of the flute, and while I don't know music too well, I'd say I agree they're a little off. But this is still great work man. That part in the second half where you pair the flute with the sax and the back and forth between them was COOKING. Using a hair comb, the flute solo into the final part, this is super unique and really evolves the song which I love. Keep up the good work man

I love the way you sound, it is pretty unique and so hypnotising. The combination of the drone synth who play "dom dom" and your bass line is so soft you nailed it ! . Sometime the harmony between the sax's section and the flute seem a little bit off ? out of tune ? IDK but it's clearly a part of the experience ! Congratulation, it is a fucking cool tribute !! ( my apologies for the english )

This game's OST is top tier. Really nice take on this atmospheric piece. I really like the unique flair you've put into your arrangement! I love how it builds up over time.
