Dr Saqib hit the nail on the head with his last statement. We have betrayed our covenant to Allah we are no longer the middle nation and we are no longer one ummah being a good example to humanity, instead we have become 57 different countries each competing and sometimes hating the others. Our elites are too corrupt/unjust and our ulema are stuck in the past with their sectarian differences, but this panel gives us some hope, may we have more people like them

Don’t lose hope brother, it is only by Allah’s will that we are in this state today. As long as we hold onto His rope tightly He will grant us the final victory despite what may seem to be apparent. So let us continue to remind each other towards righteousness. Because Allah doesn’t change the state of a people unless they change themselves. So we need to make changes at the micro level to hope to see changes at the macro level. Peace be on you

There's no such thing as being stuck in the past the deen is for all times till the day of judgement and any who says it needs to be modernized or changed for new times are disbelievers many who say this want deen to confirm to western standards . Bismilah I strongly believe the reason why our prophet PBUH and his companions didn’t do tafsir on the entire Quran is because that the Quran is a book which stands against the test of time. Because of it’s timeless. Our relationship with it is live it and take lessons from it. What does this mean? This means there are many gates or door which one can enter to understanding the Quran for his time and period, no one generation, even the best of generations can possess complete knowledge or understanding of the Amazing book.

With our everyday life of high corruption among the ummah, the riba that we deal in our business, the high domestic violence and divorce rate, we think that it shouldn't affect us as an ummah. Readers would find it interesting that back in 2009, an article was published in Haartez by a Jewish writer that spoke of the destruction of the first two temples and interestingly those accounts are the same as explained by our contemporary scholar. The Jews too believe that the destruction of the first temple was by the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar and so on. The article is titled "The End of the Third Temple". Also, Dr. Yasir Qadhi did record an interesting lecture on these verses some 3 years back. He was contemplating on how these verses should be viewed in modern times. The title of the KZfaq video is "The Rise and Fall of Bani Israil"

The punishment for not fulfilling the responsibility of dawah will not be a traditional azab but the azab of humiliation...May Allah show us the path to come out of the current crises with garce. For me, fundamental issue either we know where are we in the timeline of human life...if we believe we are in akhirul zaman timeline, and we can further dive on it...then we can use then correct lense ... currently for me, lense of akhirul zaman by sheikh Imran Hosein is far outstanding explaining the past, current and future coming.... Completely agree with the classical interpretation. Imho, the 2 incidents mentioned relate to the past 2 destructions of the temple. And the verses following that warn the Bani Israel are about the future. That those incidents will be repeated whenever they transgress. And indeed through them, Allah SWT is warning us Muslims to not do the same. Allah's kalaam is so beautifully comprehensive. Subhan Allah! AllahuAkabar!

Quran Chapter 27: Verse 20: And he took a muster of the Birds; and he said: "Why is it I see not the Hoopoe? Or is he among the absentees? Verse 21: "I will surely punish him with a severe torment, or **slaughter him**, unless he brings me a clear reason."

As far as i understood, Prophet Sulaiman would talk to animals too and was a prophet to creatures other than Humans. The Hoopoe can "Reason" and it flying away could have also meant betrayal or serving an enemy and we all know the punishment of these crimes!

I don't want your islam. I have no interest in it, I don't like it and especially it's hard to even respect it seeing the violent actions of Muslims today. So what's my other choice? Convert to Islam or die? Isn't that's how arabs colonized africa and Asia. Convert or die? You think violence is the best way to G-d? Does it even make logical sense to you to say, the world will be better when everyone becomes Muslim but I'd they don't we will kill him.. only a Muslim would believe murder is a good way to achieve peace.. A slave can be rebellious but he still remains a slave. At the time of Al Isra wa'l miraaj, the Muslims were based in makkah and their interaction was primarily with the mushriks. the contact with the Jews happened after the hijra. hence the historic destruction pre Islam looks more stronger.
