But what we if we just say astagfirullah 100 times a day as stated in a hadith that prophet s.a.w used to ask forgiveness more than 70 times in a day . Also it is said that saying astagfirullah will make other things easy as well will it be considered as fake istighfar ? Plz answer i am now confused

*Sayyidul isthighfar* Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: If somebody recites this invocation (given below) during the day, and if he should die then, he will be from the people of Jannah. And if he recites it in the night, and if he should die on the same day, he will be from the people of Jannah.” (Jami` at-Tirmidhi) اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ وَأَبُوءُ إِلَيْكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَىَّ وَأَعْتَرِفُ بِذُنُوبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي إِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ Allāhumma anta rabbī lā ilāha illā anta, khalaqtanī wa ana `abduka, wa ana `alā `ahdika wa wa`dika ma-staṭa`tu. Sadly majority of muslims think praying 5 times a day and fasting in ramadan and not drinking alcohol etc. makes them perfect muslim (and deep inside even expect something from Allah in return), but Allah also created us so we learn about him so we understand him and love him, not just worship him like its a daily chore routine like most do, but out of purest form of love, this is what Allah wants and thats when you have succeeded

@@Earthiscreepy I am glad you said this. I have seen this in some Muslims, praying quickly or doing Zikr fast. I am slow and can’t be fast. I didn’t know what to think of it. I felt confused really. I thought to myself how can one do Zikr so fast ? It’s more than words.

That is exactly how I feel. It isn’t just coincidentally things pop up. It is Allah SWT guiding us in his way..

Allaah is the Greatest, Most Great Subhaanahu wata'ala. Sharing this hadith might seem small simple thing in your own eyes or in the eyes of people. But to Almighty Allaah you are going to meet it. Subhaana llaah.

You are right you should be sincere in confession before the Allah as shaikh described. Having said that, the mere reciting of Astagfirullah has also very important role and it also has affect on person (go search IMAM AHMED BIN HANBAL AND ASTAGFAR on Google please). So please don't confuse between two very different things (Astagfar by heart and Astagfar by tongue) rather than choosing between them you have to do both, as they have important role to play in your life.

You need to directly ask for Allah's guidance, as said in this video. Allah indeed is the most forgiving, he will understand.
