I was so fortunate I grew up knowing who he is/was. It’s hard for me to say was because he’s still so ALIVE through his music. If you haven’t been to Memphis, you HAVE to go. Your Elvis journey isn’t complete until you visit Memphis. Graceland is so beautiful and I’m telling you his spirit still fills that place. I FELT him there. Walking on Beale Street was amazing, just knowing who used to be there and what legends still live on there. Oh, and this movie is amazing! I’ve watched it twice and sobbed at the end BOTH times for at least an hour. I’ve seen so many “documentaries” and “personal STORIES” about Elvis that I was a little scared for this one. Is all of it true? No, but it’s alllll good. Anyone that doesn’t love Elvis really must have a personal problem. This man meant and still means so much! His influence is still contributing to today’s music. So many things that are and have been wouldn’t be without this man. History will remember him and I hope that all of the lies will soon be buried under the light of the truth. He and his family deserve that much. Fly high, EP, fly high. I’m sure you were glad to see your old buddy Sam. I know he’s missed you for a lot of years. 💜

Thank you for the reaction. Tom Hanks talked about his fat suit here, in an interview. He said that he spent more time in the makeup chair, than the apes in Planet of the Apes. LOL This makes me smile so much, that younger people are finally learning about Elvis. I have read so many false statements about him from young people. I am a senior and lived through all of this. I have adored Elvis since I was a toddler. It is impossible to begin to explain to those who were not there, how huge he was. Movie after movie, records consistently, and you could not go anywhere that you did not see his face on magazines. It warms my heart that people are learning the true story of who he was. I raised my own children on his music. Now their children know. He literally changed the course of American music and was a legend in his own time. ...and he was such a caring soul..... always helping others. All this is quite authentic…girls’ reactions, costumes etc..). The cinematography is exceptional. I think what most young people do not understand is that in the fifties , we had never seen anything even CLOSE to this! Our music was country, gospel, swing, blues, Lawrence Welk, Perry Como, Dean Martin and Dinah Shore with her ‘Doggy in the Window’ ! All rather tame..... our parents music. We young people felt excitement with music for the first time....and WHAT excitement it was! I've had young people today tell me they were so shocked at these reactions, because his gyrating is nothing by today's standards. It was another world then. We felt excitement down to our soul when he danced and sang. Some parents thought it was vulgar ..thankfully not mine. They knew there was no need. The local record store called me every time a new record was in. I would jump on my bicycle and rush to the store. LOL In the seventies at his live concerts, the reactions were still the same. The first time I saw him in person, when he walked out, I was turned to stone. He called my friend up to the stage! (but that is a whole story in itself. LOL) Everyone was screaming and I could not even move. He had charisma that permeated through, right down to your seat! We were not allowed to camp out for tickets. We had to mail and hope we were given good seats. The minute it was announced, we jumped in our car and drove 30 miles to mail our money order, (they did not accept checks) from the city in which he was appearing.... in hopes that it would arrive there quicker. I once bought a second row seat from a scalper. Still one of the best nights of my life... We would stalk the airport :-) ...try to get off the elevator on his floor of the hotel.. without much success. LOL Such fond memories. I have a huge 'storage' of Elvis memories. For those who do not know… when they announce here at the end, "Elvis has left the building'…This was what they announced repeatedly at the end of every 70’s concert. They knew we young women were running all around trying to find him. LOL Thank you so much for helping to keep his memory alive. He really made that statement .."I'm going to be forty , and no one will remember me.” If he only knew :-)

Finally ! My fav reactor reviewed the Elvis film! You are the only reactor to pick up on that quote that Elvis really believed "no one will remember me"
@TheEccho
@TheEccho 2 жыл бұрын
She's one of my favorite reactor also, but her reaction to this trailer, to me, was a bit underwhelming, I thought she would have been more exited. Maybe the trailer didn't do it for her. I've been very curious to know if this trailer will make a younger person, who knows nothing about Elvis, want to see the movie. I think it's a fantastic trailer, but most reaction I've watched are from people who already like Elvis, and were looking forward to this movie. I know the trailer was playing in theatres during the previews before the Batman movie, I wonder what the reactions were. Some critics seem to think this biopic is about a decade too late, and will no longer appeal to a younger crowd, that Elvis and his music is too old, not relevant enough anymore. I hope they are wrong on this. It reminds me of Elvis for the 1968 special, wondering if he could still attract a crowd, now some people are wondering the same thing. As it was, people went crazy for Elvis in 68', maybe they will too in 2022..

Kenny Rogers was in Vegas sitting in Elvis' room with him and Kenny said that after a while people started coming in and it was getting crowded......so Kenny told Elvis he was gonna go gamble and Elvis said he wished he could do that. Kenny said "Why can't you?" Elvis told Kenny that the colonel wouldn't let him, that everyone would be all over him. I am pretty sure Kenny then said in the interview that the colonel had Elvis so scared. My point I'm trying to make, Jayy, is that the colonel was a jerk! He was in complete control of that man. Poor Elvis. My heart breaks thinking of how he couldn't lead a normal life at all.

Brand new Elvis book, Elvis: The Quest for an Oscar, great cover, 536 pages. The book will convince you that Elvis deserves an Oscar for his contributions to the movie industry. Elvis was able to capture the persona of all the characters he played to perfection. The 31 movies that Elvis made always entertained everyone who watched them. Austin Butler will most definitely receive the Oscar for his dynamic performance in “Elvis”. KENNEDY was assasinated or the actual minute that America was attacked on 911"! If you were alive then; you will never forget what was going on in your life! I was 7 months pregnant with my first child. My husband and I were living in a tiny apartment and we had a little black and white t.v.! It was on that little television set when I first heard that ELVIS had died! I began crying hysterically and didn't stop for 3 days! It was unreal! It was if a close member of my immediate family had

I cut myself off! All that I would like to add is, it was as if an immediate family member had died! And after all of the grieving was over, it was if "time stood still where ELVIS was concerned"! And the ELVIS CLOCK has not budged. TIME definetly stood still for ELVIS and ELVIS FAN'S!!! I am so very excited about the new ELVIS Movie! I believe that I am very similiar to most of the 65 and older generation...we are afraid! We are so afraid that it might not be true to the history of ELVIS PRESLEY; his life, his career, his personality, his romances, his songs and movies, and definitely his sweet little girl (LISA MARIE) and their loving relationship! I will not include his death in this. It was and remains the first day of the sad part of the "ELVIS CLOCK". HOWEVER, for the very young generations, they WILL be introduced to the true ELVIS; we hope, that is ELVIS fans hope! I pray that they can become excited and engrossed into his life, even his very soul! I hope this new movie will trully inspire them to the life and legend of the KING of ROCK and ROLL...ELVIS PRESLEY!!!

Baz Luhrmann did alot of research before doing this movie, you should watch the interview with Sam Bell Elvis's childhood friend in Mississippi when they were young. Its called baz Luhrmann interviews Elvis childhood friend Sam Bell. Sam died not long after Baz interviewed Sam.Its a shame Sam didn't get to see his friends movie.

Did you see the Elvis movie and react to it? The movie was very good, his singing was very much like Elvis' and Lisa Marie & Priscilla really liked & approved of this movie. Now Elvis is singing with Lisa Marie. RIP Elvis, Lisa & her son, Benjamin. xxx
