The emotions on Aqua’s face in this secret movie are so raw. After her barrier on Terra gets blown the fuck up, she’s wearing this complicated mix of confusion and suffering and awe and exhaustion. Even without context back then, you just know there’s so much running through her mind

BB: He hits him with a fire, and then he ices him. Actually dead. Actually cooked. And then he throws him off this giant ass mountain, and I'm literally thinking to myself: "He's dead. It's over. That guy, he's never coming back." Aqua in the actual game: "Ven, are you okay?" Also, Fate of the Unknown would have been a good theme for KH3's final boss.

Idk how much Nomura had planned when he made the initial teaser, but I like how there's a bit of significance to the Keyblades that the Wayfinder Trio pick up: Ventus picks up Way to Dawn, signifying his balance between his light and Vanitas's darkness. Aqua takes the Kingdom Key D, foreshadowing her being trapped in the realm of darkness. Terra's is a bit of a stretch, but him choosing the Kingdom Key could be related to him performing the inheritance ceremony on Riku, who was supposed to originally wield the Kingdom Key.

Back when I thought there was nowhere to go but up in the Kingdom Hearts series. I don't think I could've grasped how good it was; that the series wouldn't match or surpass it up until now or the foreseeable future. All the theories and analysis about who Terra, Aqua, Ven were (before their names were revealed), the three keyblades they walk up to, Fenrir and other keyblades Sora wielded being among the keyblades in the graveyard, how Braig related to Ven, hearing about the mysterious Final Mix version and haven't no clue just how much was changed in it, and the few English sources who had actually played it first-hand. I used to play that secret movie on repeat on youtube endlessly. Ended up learning Fate of the Unknown on piano and playing it a few times at a recital my music teacher hosted at a cafe. I loved playing Birth by Sleep. Was so surreal playing as these characters I'd seen for years. Parts of Sunset Horizons (the shorter cutscene's music) play in the Keyblade Graveyard in Birth by Sleep; had to double check because I thought it was parts of Fate of the Unknown that play there since I always associate those two in my mind.

KH1FM still has the best secret ending to me. This was back before we knew Kingdom Hearts was "Like That". Seeing all these cool ass dudes in black coats running up buildings and shit....still the most hype Kingdom Hearts thing in existence. When Mickey does that cool ass flip and the giant "II" appears on the screen....god damn.

Ironically it was THIS secret ending that got me into the series fully. My little mind was BLOWN and I knew shit was starting to get real so I'd say "Fate Of The Unknown" has some pretty huge significance for me and knowing it's going to be in MoM is just so nice to know. KH2FM was actually the first game I ever imported so there's that too xD

God, I remember when I was so excited for the future of the series from this ending... I miss that feeling.

Throwback to the days when everyone thought Terra was Sora's Dad, Aqua was Older!Kairi but with blue hair, and the epic return of BHK (Blonde Haired Kid). 2007 was a lawless time. XD

The KH2FM secret ending hits SO FUCKIN DIFFERENT MAN!!! TIL THIS DAY past me refuses to let me forget that feeling of finding this OUT OF NOWEHERRE on early youtube. Honestly I'm kinda glad fate of the unknown isn't used as much in KH. I feel that's what makes it so special and appreciative. I might be speaking from myself but some legendary tracks did kinda lose feeling for me the MANY times they were a bit over played (Rage Awakend)

There is no Terra only Thundercock

You know, being where we are now, like, that secret ending is ominous as fuck. It starts off with Lingering Will. Who then gets joined up with two homies. Then you see Mickey's, Sora's, and Riku's keyblades in the ground. Mind you, we didn't know this as the keyblade graveyard yet, but it is a wasteland. We then get text like "Master of the Keyblade" "Keyblade War" "The Lost Two" we know what those all mean now, but imagine not knowing anything back then. This could have been a SEQUEL. Imagine Sora and Riku get fucked somehow, hence the keyblades at the start and the "The Lost Two" Sora is often refered to as the master of the keyblade (more so in KH1), and then you have the ominous "keyblade war" and "it all started with birth by sleep". Like, I wont go on, but jesus this secret ending was so vague and people back then probably felt like how we feel about Yazora now as of pre melody in 2020.

My boy BB made me super nostalgic with this to the point i teared up, damn dude.

The editing on this has me absolutely rolling. I've never seen the extended cut but the repeated sound effects with the Chad/Terra Thundercock is 10/10.

I recently played back KH1&2 because of nostalgia during COVID-19, the bundle final mix pack and after watching both speedrun (for fast gameplay) bloody and biz kit videos, this popped up... I haven’t played kh3 yet and don’t know if ever will... but this video, literally one of the best video I have seen during my childhood.

Secret Ending: Hype as shit, even today BBS's actual context: toned down beyond belief. Like I'm actually amazed they bungled it this badly. When you analyze the secret ending post BBS, it really feels like Nomura went all in on the cool factor but didn't make a good enough effort to explain it when it was time. Like the Ventus freezing thing is cool in the moment until you realize, shit, Xehanort needs him to make the X-Blade. *A non negligible part of his master plan.*

When I was little, I had my mom order KH2 FM for me. I had to rebuild my PS2 to play games from Japan. I beat Terra on my own without any guides or even being able to understand Japanese. Viewing this secret ending almost had me in tears because I had worked so hard for it. 😂

They had everything going for them. They just couldn't make Aqua the main character... They should have really framed it as the opening shots of the ten year war. How I would have gone about it whilst still including the worlds they intended. Paris, France/Mysterious Tower (Aqua's first stop an early win to save a young Belle, Terra allows the curse onto Beast's Castle, Ven meets Yen Sid, tower is attacked since Ven is finally alone, Yen Sid moves it. Mickey gets charm to go back to aid ven, works first time). Dwarf Woodlands (Terra's, story as is except Ven and Snow fight together before she falls asleep, Using Air based magic, (Ven has more Aero-baae melding commands) Enchanted Castle (Ven still shrinks down, Cindy fights alongside Terra and actually defeats her Stepmother with Aqua's help, establishing how powerful the Princesses of Heart really are) Radiant Garden (now that PoH power is established everything suddenly hits different Xehanort returns to talk to Terra sending his proxy to fight Aqua to keep her at bay. Sicking Terra on the other princesses out there). Aqua sees Terra leave and follows suit Enchanted Dominion (Terra arrives first, Ven arrives to war about to break out and intervenes against Malificent. Aqua arrives to help the Prince left behind when Ven is smacked down by Vanitas) Disney Town (Ven wakes up to find The triplets having used some sort of new tech to accidentally open a portal to outer space. Establishing how they followed behind Goofy and Donald... (TIME TRAVEL BABY!!!!! Since they're still children in the future). Events play out similarly except the kids use their ice cream money to create a space ship accidentally traveling to the future in the end credits). Olympus Coliseum- much larger world akin to Agrabah - (Terra accidentally lands in Front of Hercules throwing a wooden shield at a tree in the same river Meg shows up in, this wooden shield creates a chink in Terra's armor making him more succeptible to darkness mentions how he wishes to complete in the games someday and Terra acknowledging the strength tells him he'll get there someday, Terra story continues through games Ven arrives to Hercules adoptive town witnesses the destruction Hercules causes and joins him up until they find Phil, who mentions Terra already having got everyone interested in fighting again)... Aqua arrives at Zeus's statue but can hear the Colyseum below and still signs up for games) When all 3 are done Scene with Hades in Underworld being read the crimes of Malificent stopping when Aqua is read and asking her to explain what this door is...) Deep Space - As is but show more aliens on unversed action. Bring in Pleakley as the only person who can actually identify what an unversed is. Establish that in this universe Destiny Islands = Lilo's Hawaii, Stitch will one day belong to Kairi adopted daughter of Mayor Lilo. Neverland- (due to their time in space all 3 are now slightly behind one another in terms of days) Destiny Islands - All 3 arrive and see Sora and Riku. Aqua leaves Sora a key chain to remember to protect what he cares about. (The one he wears on his neck) Keyblade Graveyard- Fuck the unversed, due to the meddling (Aqua killed Unversed influenced soldiers as did Ven with their keyblades creating....) Master Xehanort reveals he already has an army with no way to control. Once the barriers between worlds falls... There will be nothing stopping every world returning to it's true form. They all approach from a different Path. Ven takes the tornado route, Aqua lands in the ruins and Terra in the graveyard outright. As lingering wills pop up to stop this being of both light and darkness. Aqua vs Heartless Ven vs Unversed Terra vs Lingering Wills aka pre-war nobody's. A giant heartless attacks Terra, and he ends him singlehandedly below the heartless are 3 keys as both his friends arrive... Dusk Form, Dawn Form, Twilight Form, dual wield capacity through the rest of the events. Fight plays out for all the marbles. Still a great secret movie after all these years. This is canon not what we played through... Lol.

I genuinely assumed that everyone: (1) knew Fate of the Unknown; (2) loved Fate of the Unknown; (3) was mad/confused when Black Powder of all songs played during this scene in BBS; and (4) has been bumping the KH2FM secret ending nonstop for 10+ years. Amazing action, emotion, music, melodrama. The story doesnt make sense but it doesnt matter, the emotion is still felt. Even when we knew nothing about these characters or that BBS was even a video game, it still hit unbelievably different. Honestly the mystery made it even better...

No joke KH2's secret ending was hype as fuck, I was super hype for BBS after that, then come BBS and I was hype to see this scene play in game. My god how can you ruin a scene this hard with mistakes : 1-Part of the fight were completly remove. 2-Every visual that indicate damage were remove, Terra getting strike by thunder, getting his arm frozen, every moment of armor breaking, Xehanort holding Ventus head so hard it crack his helm. This are details but it make the scene a LOT more intense and make you feel they weren't playing around. 3-It's funny back when I didn't know Terra, Aqua and Ventus when this scene release, I cared about this scene and it make me feel for them. Then I played BBS and well let say I dislike these character, Terra is an actual idiot trusting every painfully obvious bad guys around there only for him at the end to be like "Oups I screwed up again." At the end of almost every single world, Ventus is just a discount Sora and Aqua while badass is just bland and her English dub doesn't help. So when this scene happen I just didn't care for any of them anymore, which severely hurt the emotionnal impact this scene had. 4-The music this is the biggest sin, why the fuck did they replace Fate of the Unknown one of the best theme in the series, not only did they replace it but it's replacement sucks, one of the most generic and forgettable theme in the series (I actually don't even remember how it's called). So yeah pretty disappointed by this one.

I watched this secret ending so many times on KZfaq. I was obsessed with it. I watched it time and time again. But the first time you beat Lingering Will, and you watch this on your own TV, with your ps2 remote in hand (for those who had the JP exclusive Final mix) I got mad chills. Unlocking it on your own and watching it after the blood sweat and tears of Lingering Will is irreplaceable!
