The reason the principal kept putting you in detention was that he caught you running in the hall. To avoid him, never run when he's around. Also, the whole "HE'S GOING TO SPANK MY BALLOON BUTT" is hilarious! Also, people are saying they prefer the older splinks models. When I heard this, I almost jumped out of my window. Why would people want the outdated, unaccurate, super old splinks models? Beats me. I want the newer models, but I guess some people just DON'T.

Spoiler Alert! Here's a tip: When you have 2 books, with only one problem wrong so far (since the last problem on books 2-7 always has to be wrong), you can walk faster than Baldi at first I believe, so don't run much during that time. Also, if the principal catches you running even for a split second, your going to go to detention, so don't run too much unless you have to. Also, that tape can be inserted in the detention area to ward Baldi away for a short time. Using the quarter on the phone has the same effect. Also, if you end up getting a solvable problem wrong by mistake, then you might as well just restart, since Baldi would then be faster than before. Though you could try to see what happens if you get all the problems wrong on all the notebooks you collect as well. Either way though.

If the principal says "no running in the halls," it means he saw you or another character running, which leads to a detention. The tape you found can be played in a game played in the detention room to mess with Baldi's hearing and make it less likely for him to catch you. Also, you were running around nearly the entire time, which caused the principal to catch you every time. For the first few notebooks you get, it isn't necessary to run around to collect the notebooks as Baldi doesn't chase you as quickly.

so the principal gives you detention if he sees you break any school rules, other then through the windows. so make sure to not use the bsoda or zasty bar, sprint, or enter school faculty room while you see him in the halls. the problem you encountered is that you constantly sprinted. USE THE SPRINT SPARINGLY. ;3 (P.S. there was a new update to this game.)
