Some devices don't seem to have BBC iPlayer in the Amazon App Store or Google Play Store. In this video I will show you how to install the official Android TV version of BBC iPlayer to your device.

THANK YOU! Your instructions were great. Now I can watch Paul McCartney @ Glastonbury. I’d like to add a few fixes. I have a Samsung TV with Android apps. 1st-When I downloaded Downloader app and BBC iPlayer app I got a “Special Storage Permission” required error. I went into Android Permissions and gave Downloader approval. 2nd-I installed the NordVPN app on the tv and chose a UK server. Not sure if this was necessary or not, but it worked. Then I used my iPhone, selected a NordVPN UK server, and registered on BBC iPlayer. 3rd-I entered a UK Postal Code and selected “I have a TV license”. I’m now watching one of McCartney’s best shows ever. Thanks again.

Thanks for this my Iplayer worked fine on my Sony Bravia until July this year. BBC told me it was the TV. Tried everything but this worked straight away.

Just did this on my Sony Bravia TV. We’ve oBly had it three years and they removed the app a few months ago and it’s infuriating! This video guide worked for me so thanks very much you’ve stopped me stressing out about having to buy a newer tv which supports it

You’ve just changed our life. I player has been continuously refusing to load on SONY Android TV with Sony Select for 2 years - every time we had to completely switch off TV twice for I player to work. Just followed your instructions and it works every time ❤❤❤

Having trouble with the All4 app. I don't live in the UK but I do have Nordvpn, and still can't get the All4 app to work. I have heard others have the same problem and say you have to change your device clock to UK time, do you know if this is correct.

Hey I have an android tv and I'm trying to download the ITV HUB. I went into the site Let's Crackon and tried to download it but it came up with a message saying it had a problem parsing the package. Is there anyway I can get this app? Because Euro 2020 is on ITV and I'm in the U.S.

iPlayer just disappeared from my KE48A9 today, tried resetting etc to no avail and didn't realise it wasn't available in the Play store. Luckily your video is very clear and downloaded and installed without issue, cheers 👌🏻😁

Man I can't thank you enough. We just bought a new Sony tv and the iPlayer was showing as "not compatible with this device" Literally on a brand new Sony Bravia... My girlfriend was in bits as she's a big bbc iPlayer follower. You saved the day man!! Honestly thanks a million dude. At the same time I can't believe how crap sony is 🤣🤣

I have found that if you install this way on a chromecast then the screensaver dosent recognise iPlayer when streaming and kicks in after the set time. Is there a way to get the screensaver to recognise iPlayer and halt loading rather then deactivating or extending the duration before it kicks in?

Thanks I have a TCL TV bought in Spain, having installed iPlayer from your APK when I launch iPlayer (within a VPN terminating in the UK) a box come up connection error, cannot connect to BBC servers. Any thoughts on how to solve this. iPlayer works fine here on a firestick on another TV. Is there a 'helper app' that iPlayer requires?

I downloaded for Fire Stick, but when I open the App it prompts me to update. There is no option to skip the update, but clicking the update button takes me to the App store where, of course, the App is unavailable. Hi Bro, a few applications at your website store are outdated and wouldn't work on a firestick 4k any chance for any updates. Especially the UK apps like My5 and/or All4 are not working

maybe this is off-topic, but do you know when connecting to " cinema HD" the message " error code " 401" shows up it's weird I get this on one firestick? I have another in the front room and have no issue connecting, any ideas?

Is there a specific version that works for Google TV (rather than Android TV) When I open the [your] app it appears to load momentarily, then takes me to another screen politely telling me my device is no longer compatible, contact the developers. Its running Android TV OS 11 (AR2101) Obviously with Google's layer on top. Its a TCL C835k TV, but I believe this is a problem with Chromecast with google tv also? Thanks for reading.
