The composer deserves a Grammy. It’s so exhilarating. The countdown beeps give a sense of urgency.

Those are the iconic pips, not a countdown. You can trace those all the way back through to 1924 on BBC Radio. 6 pips that signal the hour. I listened to an interview with the composer of the current BBC News theme, and his breakdown of his creation was really interesting.

It truly is exhilarating. So much so, I've sometimes found myself getting emotional about all the achievements of the BBC when it's aired, especially when they play the sequence where they show journalists in war zones.

Iconic. Still so fresh after all the years. When is was travelling around the world for work, this gave me goosebumps thinking about my family back home. Paramount pictures’ intro also makes me feel the same.

The best of British brilliance. I had sense a special warm inner feeling when ever I'd herd this intro theme whilst traveling in numerous countries in the 1990's and beyond.

Fascinating to see the musicians behind this theme tune. I didn't realise how many orchestral instruments were used; I assumed it was mainly synthesized. It's evolved over 22 years and potentially could be around for a long time still, now it is so well recognised as the sound of BBC News. I cannot help thinking it would be suitable to introduce a declaration of martial law!

I don’t miss this each day. Immediately it’s 60-90secs to a bbc news, I’d reach for the tv just to listen to this countdown. Now I have the whole 60sec download to my phone for my listening pleasure. With love from Nigeria.

I've always really liked the introduction music to the BBC News, so decided to find out how it was produced. I was totally taken aback by the beautiful orchestra they all were amazing each and every one of them not to mention the composer. I really hope this introduction will carry on for many years. Sometimes you just take things for granted don't you!!

As a Canadian who checked his watch to the Greenwich Mean Time broadcast on CBC (from the BBC) i am astonished at what the composer has achieved. It is brilliant in every way possible to imagine.
