I know it’s fast: I was on stage, in the orchestra. If I’m honest, I was shocked when we first rehearsed, but you know what? - it was electric; it was IN the moment; it was fun. To top it off, she’s an INCREDIBLE singer, and it was a real pleasure to work with Kevin Edusei. I’m incredibly proud of this performance - not just because I think it was “good,” but also because we had a conductor who would ACTUALLY take the risk of a fast tempo; we had a singer who COULD take the risk; we had a collection of fellow musicians to boldly go on that journey with them. Rather than thinking of it as “good, “bad, “right,” “wrong,” how about thinking of it as it is - an approach different to the norm that, regardless as whether one likes it or not, elicits a response.

When I first hear how fast they were playing this, I was really concerned and did not think anyone could humanly keep up. Well she did it.. and flawlessly. Each note is crisp and distinct. Simply incredible!!!

Her execution of those 16 note runs are impeccable and clear, even top sopranos wobble in those passages

What a stunning voice! Jeanine’s expression and the clarity of her intonation is phenomenal. What I cannot understand is why I have not heard of her before today!

Jeanine and I went to the same secondary school and she is part of the reason why I am pursuing a career in Classical music! I first heard her in 2005 when my school participated in a choral competition in Austria! She had already graduated but she came back to do a soprano solo. It was so beautiful! She's such an amazing singer ^_^

I was crying faster than she was singing at one point. I adore The Messiah and have rarely heard such a beautiful rendition. I sent it to all the ladies in my Bible study small group since we're studying the passage in Isaiah "His name shall be called...the Prince of Peace." I can't wait for them to experience it! Unbelievable! A glorious dramatic coloratura! Perfect control of the melismas, amazingly intricate ornamentation! I never heard this aria at quite this Allegro Molto tempo before, but it suited the Soprano's artistry perfectly.

Wow! That was perhaps the best and most awesome performance of Handel’s Rejoice that I have ever heard. Given that Handel himself is reputed to have said after writing the Hallelujah chorus, “I did think I did see all Heaven before me, and the great God Himself.”, I think he might be proud of this performance because Jeanine and Chineke! really lift the biblical text from the page and make it alive which is what the whole Messiah oratorio was about and supposed to do. Well done to all involved in this masterpiece performance!

Terrifying Allergro Vivace tempo, but amazing control of the coloratura passages, and fantastic ornamentation!

After a lot of comparsion Ive decided this is really my favourite interpretation. The ornamentation at the end alone, like damn I really do feel like the lord is coming unto me, if ya catch my drift.

The voice of this century is now here. Absolutely and undeniably the best I've heard. Congratulations Miss Jeanine, and I look forward to hearing more of you and hopefully see you perform.
