Have to say, big fan but so cringe... this is the first time I used this word btw. And I cringed when seeing Michael & James cringed watching those fan art. The best bromance is keeping a little distant so people don't feel cringe, then it will work, for young people and older people.

Bless them both for being such good sports about all of this. I’m only 32 and feel older than I am for saying this, but back in the day it was a HUGE no-no to ship two people in real life. Every fandom that I was in regraded it as taboo and so if I ever shipped anyone in real life (like Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart well before they actually got together), I did so quietly. It’s crazy to me that actors are now exposed to fan art and fan fiction created with them in mind and that it’s an actual talking point in interviews like this. Of course I can find the humor in it, but there’s also a part of me that thinks cringes. I know they’re good friends, but I feel like they’re probably glad they won’t ever have to do press together anymore and provide more bait for their fandom.

Najwa Umar same here. When they get to 1:34 with Victoria in the audience, I cannot go any further. I know that when you put things on the Internet, the entire world can access it, but it’s one thing when you can hide behind a computer. You can be anonymous, use pseudonyms, etc. Also, the fiction or art you create is aimed at other fans who enjoy that same “ship”, so you feel you have support, especially when you get positive feedback. If I was in Victoria’s position here, being on international television faced with my celebrity crushes and being called out for my erotica and fantasies involving these two men, I would just about DIE of mortification.

I think both are extremely comfortable in their sexuality and are good sports about all of this. If I’m being honest, however, you can sense that in fact it is Michael who is the one who is a bit uncomfortable. But again, he plays along with it really well, bless him.
