The synchronization between Big Ben’s ringing and the fireworks at the beginning was incredible and always will be.

It's now 2024 but this display from 2012 is still THE GREATEST fireworks display ever put on.

From a timing and music synchronization standpoint this was the best display certainly at that time and I haven’t seen any other New Year displays as good as this since…The pause and restart during ‘Firestarter’ is incredible and they managed to sync the barge rockets to each individual musical bar of ‘You really got me’ by the kinks…..the ‘Nuclear’ multiple launches at the end to ‘Faithless’ is absolutely un-rivaled….

The start of the greatest year in the history of Modern Britain.

I've had a pretty rough time since 2012 so I like to go back to these 2012 videos when I'm feeling down as it reminds me of a time when my life was simpler and happier but its also reminds me of who i used to be. All that youth, innocence and enthusiasm for life. It really snaps me out of the mood I'm in. Its like the past me is giving present day me a shake and saying "Yeah things haven't gone the way you hoped but that doesn't mean you should stop. Only you can get yourself out of this hole you have fallen into. Go live!"

Every year there’s a new firework display and yet I always come back to this one. Someone put real care into this one. From music to rhythm to fireworks used. 👌 Nowadays it’s just fireworks. All at once, not much sync, like someone thinks that more is better. Shame

My favourite fireworks display of all time. I'd had such an awful 2011, that when I watched this the first time in 2012, I cried. Such a beautifully choreographed display. Don't think you can top this one! Watched it so many times Happy 2017 everyone!

I return to this display often and as the years go by since, I still haven't seen one which tops it. Every time I watch it, it's like seeing it again for the first time. In my opinion, this is by far one of if not the best fireworks displays ever created in combination with the music mix and it's synchronisation. I would pay good money to have this recreated so I could see it LIVE like so many lucky people had the opportunity to do, even if it was in the millions like it was here.

This is still by far the best firework display London ever done. I still watch it even in Oct 2021. The music and fireworks sync was spot on.... even made my eyes water with happiness... sounds sad I know.

How tf was 2012 10 years ago!! Loved this display and I was going to be 10 that year, now I'm 20 this year this just shows how fast life goes have to live to the fullest even though there is tough times. Here is to 2022 hope its filled with joy peace and love for all ✌🏽💗

Ah, the halcyon days of 2012 in the UK when everyone got on and we were 6 months away from holding the 30th Olympic Games. The eyes of the world looked down on our tiny island and embraced us. Now, 12 years later, it's totally different which is such a shame.

Yep, 2012 was prob the best in the last 10 years. Theeeeee best. (followed by 2017) The build up and drop with 'Whats That Coming Over The Hill' from <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="460">7:40</a> is GOLD - the fireworks singing in the air right up to the drop is INCREDIBLE! Then Emeli Sande's Heaven after the gap from <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="552">9:12</a> never fails to bring a tear to my eye. And here I go again.. Then it just goes fucking nuts and they blow everything up from <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="600">10:00</a>. Just amazing.

This has to be one of the best,well synchronised ( Due to GPS being used to synch fireworks,music,lighting together) firework displays ever, They had a £1.9m budget for this display which excluded policing costs. £276,000 of fireworks was just used for Big Ben.The display was put together by David Zolkwer, Jack Morton's creative director, who was part of the Athens Olympics. Firework designer Darryl Fleming chose the fireworks using his knowledge of how high and long they burn for. They had a "hugely complex" 300-page cue list with 5,500 triggers for each of the fireworks. Record viewing figures of 12.6m, a million more than 2011. Hopefully 2016 will be just as good.
