The rest of the troop escape but Bakari is trapped. As he waits it out, he’s unaware of the danger his troop is in. Bakari escapes the lions and returns to the troop, just in time.

Great footage! He had the wind in his advantage and used the tree to hide behind as he get grew the distance from the pride! Can you imagine fighting the urge to just bolt as soon as you hit the ground!

Yes it's scripted. The camera can tell any story the viewer wishes to see. If those lions were not hunting the baboon. They were resting.

@@yishaithegift9953 My point was that they tried over-dramatising it, and trying to humanise the animals when you don't need to. Nature and wildlife in itself is entertaining enough, without trying to turn it into some soap opera

Surprised he didn't feel safer up in the tree. Walking away if he is not downwind could be fatal. Nowhere to hide and they are much faster running than he could ever be.

He can't stay in the tree and take the heat of the sun forever. Lions do it to Baboons and leopards. They wait them out and pounce when they come down to escape the heat.
