I think it's a tad farfetched to call it mind-blowing. It is pretty incredible how tight they are as an ensemble, but it's pretty clear to me it's come from stupid amounts of hard work and dedication to their craft, in the same way a painter or sculptur might inspire the same thoughts. It's not beyond comprehension or anything like it, just fucking loads of passion innit.

When I was 20 (years of age) three bands that I knew of would go on stage and just make noise - raucous, unstructured noise. These bands were the MC5, the Stooges (w/Iggy Pop) and Pink Floyd. The MC5 began their career by playing Stones tunes, and their first single was “I Can Only Give You Everything” by Them (w/Van Morrison). Then, they saw a performance by the great Sun Ra & His Space Arkestra, and they realized that what they had been doing was shit. So they began imitating free jazz (Sun Ra, Albert Alyer). The MC5, the Stooges and Pink Floyd were my three favorite bands. But within 8 years, the 5 had gone back to Rock & Roll, Iggy was singing with David Bowie, and Pink Floyd were doing anthems and dirges. What does this augur for Black MIDI in the future? Stay tuned !
