Columnist and author Rod Liddle calls it 'The Great Betrayal' in his new book, while Tom Baldwin from the people's vote says both leavers and remainers have been betrayed in the years since the vote.
Liddle blames the establishment, but Baldwin argues Liddle "is the establishment".
Cambridgeshire Police said no offences had been revealed in its inquiry into bribery and postal votes of the 2019 Peterborough by-election.

See Maitlis's recent interview with the Labour woman Jess Phillips. What a contrast! - first name terms, then respectfully waiting until Ms Phillips had finished all her answers, etc etc. Then sharing blaming the government (Moslems/LGBT) without any questioning of Phillip's identity politics position. The bias is so blatant especially when you compare Maitlis's interviewing technique on left/right wingers and remainers/brexiteers.

Liddell talking about a documentary alleging racial differences in intelligence. "On average a little under 10 per cent thicker than whites; 15 per cent thicker than east Asians. Brexit has forced the quality of available commentators to rock bottom. Perhaps the BBC isn't trying hard enough to get Brexit-supporting interviewees who aren't racists and/or the worst of the gutter press elite. Currently the only people they have who support the Brexit line are idiots, racists, and elitist tax-evaders. I'm sure there are people out there who support Brexit and do not fall into the above category, but currently they receive zero air time. And maybe that's the point - are they boring to listen to?

I went back & re-watched the entire David Dimbleby chaired BBC 1 EU ref Election Night Special Results Programme of June 23rd 2016. I wanted to see how the Establishment reacted in real time, to the apparent shock result. I also wanted to know if the result was accepted on the night. Emily Maitlis began talking about another referendum at 10 minutes past 5 in the morning, as she interviewed a panel guest. "..but are we going to need a second referendum..?" DD had declared it for Leave shortly prior. Emily Maitlis couldn't even let the result stand for longer than an HOUR.

@@peterduff9281 There are so many reasons we contribute money to the EU it would be impossible for me to outline them here, but think about this. Do you think our agriculture and its methods would survive in the world of today without the help from the EU? Or the research we have embarked that is only possible in the context of multiple countries working together? What about having full access to the biggest trading block in the world? Or what about the flexibility for our businesses to be able to reach bigger challenges thanks to the economics and workforce available?? The EU may be imperfect but is a force for good. But let's a different angle... it is in our best interest that all the countries in EU are successful so we don't receive big sways of immigration because one thing is clear, if a polish citizen can feed his family in their country, they won't come here at all, they came because they were struggling. This is something we should remember and if we were to pay attention, it would be good to start looking at Africa and the Middle East and instead of messing around, truly be helpful because it is in our best interest too.

Emily Maitlis demonstrating, yet again, her basic incompetence as an interviewer. She cannot seem to be able to separate her own opinions and emotions from the need to be cool-headed and objective. She was dire in her role of adjudicating the Tory leadership debate; she was objectionable in her interview with an Hungarian politician recently and she tried to trap Geert Wilders, the Dutch politician, in his knowledge of the Bible, thinking he wouldn't know its content from that of the Qur'an. But Wilders discerned, easily, what she was up to. If the BBC wasn't so institutionally wedded to PC ideology and to promoting females regardless of their fitness for the job, Emily would be long gone.

I don't want to get dragged into a BBC bias argument but I do know that Emily maitliss is a well known Remainer and shows it in her interviews. There's all this talk of MPs can't decide and therefore there should be a second referendum, funny how it's only Remainers calling for this second vote but not surprising as it will be heavily biased towards Remain. The BBC aren't doing themselves many favours. Maybe the guy is a racist, I don't know, but the ad hominems don't contribute the the conversation. When you only have a 10 minute segment you better stay on topic, rather than more pointless, devisive noise.

It's interesting watching this in January 2020 after the recent general election. I love the line from Tom Baldwin "be a democrat" (directed at Rod Liddle) re. having a second referendum. What a hypocrite. And, the presenter. She couldn't resist throwing the racism card at Rod Liddle. It appears to me they have coordinated their attack against him. Also, presenters/Interviewers should keep their emotions out of it.

The BBC issued an apology regarding Emily Maitlis' bias in this edition of the 'Emily Maitlis show' yet somehow this clip is still available on KZfaq with no reference to this fact. Clearly the BBC no longer take their impartiality guidelines seriously, this and many other factors are contributing to the organisation's rapid demise. It's sad really.

Outrageous bias shown here! Maitlis is calm, quiet and respectful when the remoaner speaks, and then attacks Rod with a character assassination whenever he speaks. And according to a quick search, we (the TV-tax payers) pay her enough money to buy a new house each and every year: "In 2019, Maitlis was amongst the highest paid BBC news and current affairs staff, receiving a salary between £260,000-£264,999." And last year she was paid £325,000!!! She does a bad job and gets paid even more (of our) money!
