The Anglican church has long been disconnected from the laity- those with bottoms on the pews-whilst the clergy are always in various respects on another level- this disconnection showed up during the referendum when the clergy including the current Archbishop called on everyone-Christians to vote Remain- since then 2019-the Archbishop has called for a gathering of the good and the great to discuss how to think about the state of the country- I wondered then just how many joining the group to talk would be the same elites and establishment that think, and still do- that those who voted Leave were wrong-misguided didnot understand what was going on. It saddens me that RW here does not hold a more thoughtful and CONNECTED view to the reasons for the Leave Vote for Brexit But sadly the Church is not in the right place- that place that Christ directed them too- they are still thinking and behaving as if they have the 'truth'.

If you wanted a no-deal brexit this badly you should have asked for it back in 2016. Perhaps we should organise some sort of sandbox world, where all the people who deny reality (for example the folly of a no deal) can play in and be educated about their folly by having the scenario they envisage actually happen. Hopefully the real world won't turn into such a sandbox where such people get to play around and (hopefully) there are enough sensible people to deal the best they can with a bad 'no win' situation.
