There's a reason this performance has the brilliant energy it has. I can't remember where I saw the bts but apparently Hozier and all his bandmates couldn't make eye contact without somehow bursting into laughter, you can still kind of hear/see glimpses of that fun in their performances, the whole lot of them and I love it. They're all having so much fun with this performance.

Jesus christ I just recently accidentally heard this song after listening to "Take Me to Church," and I am absolutely enamored by it. I knew this guy was an amazing musician I just never bothered to dive deeper in his material. I too will one day raise my children on rhythm and blues!

this is one of my favourite videos only because Andrew is so animated in comparison to some of his other live recordings. I think I've watched this one so much that every time I listen to the studio version I get momentarily confused when I can't hear his giggle in the second verse

The beginning of the song was a little rough for his voice it seems. He was cracking a lot. This recording is a really fun one though. Throughout the song you can see him being silly and fooling around a lot. Cracks me up every time. Love seeing such a talented musician having such a good time.

okay okay okay okay I know this was 4 years ago but I want to clarify for all of my present and future peeps in the comment section. Hozier sings with EXCEPTIONAL technique. I hear the "cracks" you're talking about and they're stylistic and very intentional
