Actual history of the seven sisters aasthan -On Tuesday, Chaitra Shukla Navami of V.S. 808, Bhagwati Shri Awad Mata incarnated at the house of Mamdji Charan. During a famine, Mamdji along with his relatives went to Sindh along with his livestock. By that time Sindh had been captured by Arab Muslims. He forced the Hindus of Sindh to convert to Islam on a large scale and forced them to convert. Mamdji's family was living in a hut (nes) on the banks of the Hak Daryaav (river) near the ancient Nanangarh (Sultanpur) of Sindh, which was 64km north of Bahawalpur. The seven sisters of Bhagwati Shri Avad Mata were the incarnation of Shakti. All these seven sisters were very beautiful. At that time the ruler of Nanangarh was Adan Soomra, he had accepted the religion of Islam. A barber named Luchia praised the beauty of the seven Awa sisters in front of Prince Noor of Aden Soomra, when Nooran stubbornly wanted to marry the Awadi sisters, Mamdji Charan boldly rejected this proposal and said that due to the religion and religion of both of us, Castes are different, so how can we have any relation with you? There was a doubt in the minds of the people who had come with Shri Awad Mata that how would they cross the huge Hakra river flowing in the middle of the road leading to Mand(barmer) region? On the other hand, King Adan Soomra called the sailors of Hakra River and prohibited the relatives of Mamdji Charan and the people accompanying them from crossing the river. Also, to prevent them from escaping to Mand Pradesh, the king got a tight guard installed on Hakra river. Shri Awad Mata gathered the people of Mand region along with Kushalshah, the Diwan of Garh and his daughter Kanati, on the banks of Hakra river and requested the river that we are in dire straits, give us a way to go, we will sacrifice our lives to protect our religion. Wanted to go to the state but stubborn river Hakara kept flowing with tremendous speed. On this Shri Awad Mata said that there is desert (Thar) ahead on our way where we have to drink. Water will not be available. Therefore, everyone fill their pots and utensils with water. Shri Awad Mata told her sisters to drink water till their stomachs are full, otherwise water will not be available here. Shri Awad Mata asked Sherav Bhati to cut a strong buffalo and give him food. Bhati Sherao cut the buffalo with the blow of his sword and offered it to Bhagwati Shri Avad Mata. Shri Awad Mata laughed fiercely and drank the blood of a buffalo and filled a challu with water and the water level of the river started decreasing. In this way, when all the seven sisters filled their challu and drank the water, not even a drop of water remained in the Hakra river. Due to this miracle, Bhagwati Shri Avad Mata was named Pinotani Mata or Mahodari Mata (one with huge stomach). Bhagwati Shri Avad Mata surprised all the fellow travelers by exploiting the Hakra river. Even today, sea creatures, shells, conch shells etc. can be seen as remains in this area.
