Jane thank you so much for these video’s. I had piano lessons when I was around 8 years old for about 1 year then I quit playing for a pretty long time. I did not learn all the notes properly but I always played on the piano for fun. Then at 18/19 years old I learned some pieces from KZfaq and wanted to learn Chopins Fantaisie - Impromptu but I thought that would be a way too difficult piece for me. I found ur tutorial on this piece and I almost finished it!

So nice to hear from you, Brandon. Glad you’re back to practicing the piano. Finishing Chopin’s Fantasie Impromptu is indeed an accomplishment. Congratulations!

Jane Thanks! Yes I’m happy too, it took me a few months of practice.But now I can play it pretty good at 125BPM for the first theme of the piece, I’m working on dynamics now :). I have a question do you think you should make the pinky finger of ur left hand stand out to accentuate the polyrhythm. Like on every chord of the left hand you press the pinky a little bit louder so that note comes out somewhat more if you understand what I mean?
@janepianotutorials
@janepianotutorials 4 жыл бұрын
Re the pinky, perhaps just a little bit if it helps keep a steady rhythm. When a note should be accented, it is clearly indicated with this symbol >. There are many throughout the score.

Jane - You are truly a gift to the online world of music education! Thank you so much for all of your work....I know you must have your own plans for more uploads but I will ask you this....There is a lovely little Scarlatti sonata that has been in my head for a long time...it is Sonata K 53. Have you heard it? I am not a great sight reader but have played for a a long time as a side-passion/hobby....I have a difficult time with the fingering with this piece and your slow tempo videos are always so instructive for me....There are cross-hand indications in it and although it is simple, it is rather confusing! Perhaps if not a video, than some comments on this would be very encouraging! Thank you again for all of your videos and God bless!

Searched comments for "53" to find my latest upload, and discovered that I neglected to add your K.53 request to the Scarlatti webpage. My apologies. Do you still want it? If yes, it will be next on my list.

I use the free VLC Media player at 4x to check my work before uploading (lol, that's how I miss finding my mistakes!) Anyway, this is not for listening through. It is for occasional reference for note checking, whatever. The slower the better, right?

It's absolutely beautiful. Enjoying it except when the clownfish attack the crabs, and chase the wrasse. We're experimenting with ways to control the bullying!
