Beauty from Ashes.
Through Christ, a sad situation was turned into the greatest joy.
This little video is a peek at one of the greatest days of our lives... the day we got to pick up our Filipino "babies." Our lives are blessed beyond anything we could imagine.
We hope more families will be inspired to share their hearts and homes with children who need forever families.

I met a 16 year old homeless orphan 5 years ago in the Philippines. He was begging for food and sleeping on the sidewalk. My Heart was breaking and I as a Good Christian could not come back to Canada 🇨🇦 without helping him. I got him a place to stay and a cellphone so we can keep in touch. I’m now putting him through University in the Provence of Antique. Once he graduates in 2 years we will be moving him here to Canada with us. People say we changed his life.... But in Reality.... He Changed our Life. It may not be a formal adoption but he calls us Mama and Papa.

I know this family and have followed the journey during and after the adoption. Ivan and Ceirra couldn't have been blessed with a better family. The extended family is huge. They're now cousins to my granddaughter.

We are both American born but our parents are from the Philippines. Would love any insight or recommendations on approaching the process!

@@dawnblue280 how exciting!! That’s aweosle you’re going to adopt!! 💛💛 Most important thing is to pick a good agency. Ours isn’t operating anymore so I can’t recommend any, though I’d steer clear of CAS, they’re awful. But I’m sure you’ll find a great one. The your next step is to decide if you want the regular route or the Special Home Finding. We’d recommend the SHF for sure. And be open to sibling groups, older kids, and special needs. That’s what’s most needed. 💛Best wishes!!

Mary DidYouKnow You’re welcome. And - don’t be discouraged!! It will all be worth it! We chose our kids from the SHF list too. It was such a long process. So frustrating. How long did it take for you to meet your kids? My husband and I are planning to adopt as well, but I have no idea of how to do it, do we need to be in PI to process the papers? @jing Johnson , that’s wonderful you want to adopt!! We need more good people to open their homes and hearts to these sweet children needing families. You don’t need to be in the Phils to do the paperwork. Most any country is fine. US is pretty straightforward. You start by finding a good agency. You need to join the Facebook group “Philippines adoptive families.” It’s full of people that know everything about this process! It’s long and expensive and requires patience... but it’s so so so worth it 💛

It’s a beautiful song and fits well with the theme! I’m not sure who you mean by “they” - if you mean Saint FX media, no, I’ve watched a dozen of their videos and they use a variety of music. I requested this be the song used.

@@chelseamckell They, as in - the many people who has done an adoption video. It's a pretty song, and yes it fits. I clearly wasn't being overly critical and not taking away from the video at all...just that it's (and a couple of others) everywhere. It's not a big deal, just my personal choice when it comes to song overload. I just turn off the sound, or leave. If it's meaningful to the parents, that's all that matters.
