That Horn Was Also Used On The Simpson Railroad Which Was The Last Operating Logging Railroad In The United States. It Was There That Valve Recorded The Sounds For The Trains In Half Life 2.

Some engines that were on the Chicago & NorthWestern (C&NW) and the Cotton Belt Railroad (SSW) also had the same horns, even CSX had a few locomotives equipped with such a horn. Such a classic sound.

I used to use that horn on some of my gp9s. It fit pretty well on 708 (now 5678), but not so much on 943.

added strangely, it sounds different, so they turned off the column and the k5l typhon began to play in the Train Drives in from Distance with Echoed Horn Blows video itself, two typhons k5l and k5h sounded there, and k5l was played in half life 2

I don’t know. But if I had to take a guess, I would assume the sounds would be recorded from either 1971 or sometime before, given the fact that the movie DUEL had used some SFX of the same horn collection in this video, which is most likely recorded either at the same time DUEL was released (1971) or sometime before.
