I don't know how people or the members themselves feel about the performance of this year compared to other X years, or other WGI shows. But for me, this will always be my favorite show because of its design: The music choices and arrangements are excellent. Not to bash, but attention to crafting quality composition in indoor percussion is more rare than in other musical settings. The pit is not there just as a backdrop for a battery exhibition, what they're playing is actually essential to a musical story being told through the structure and pacing of the show. The battery writing doesn't feel overly obsessed with being technically complicated and satisfying to play, but instead focuses on complementing the music and being satisfying to listen to, like puzzle pieces fitting together. The unique drill "stunts", though maybe they're being overused nowadays, are really cool for the time, and moreover fit into the cohesive theme of touch. Eg 2:10 and 2:42, where players are holding on to each other to physically keep from falling over. The end of the show where a different guy strums the last chord (I can't believe they took that out for finals). Even just the pure drill itself is damn cool. Eg at 3:21, the snare triangle that suddenly snaps into place, then continually rotates and skews, weaving through and finally combining with other sections, all while they play an insanely difficult passage of course. All of this combines into a genuinely moving experience.

My personal opinion this is the best WGI show ever performed.

I've been watching this video for over a year & i just noticed that bass 5 messed up at 2:00 and lost his balance. Thats how good they are at not showing mistakes holy crap lol . a full year with out me noticing wow. lol cx

no, I'm not retarded, and guitars in fact can be classified as percussion instruments. Not all the time, but that doesn't seem to stop many drumlines from including them in their PERCUSSION ensembles.
