On the occasion of the 89th birthday of the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama on 6 July, special prayers were offered at the Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Bodh Gaya.
Tibetan monastics gathered to offer prayers for the long life of the Dalai Lama, after which the monks shared a cake to celebrate the 14th Dalai Lama's birthday. Gaya District Collecter Dr. Thiyagarajan S. M. was a special guest for the occasion.
The Dalai Lama is renowned globally for his teachings on compassion and peace. His Holiness is currently recuperating following successful knee surgery in the United States and after being discharged from the hospital on 29 June.
