Notes - I highly reccomend you watch this video focusing on what I do then rewatch it focusing on what Xav does. The mind games of this fight are insane are you really can see the level of player he is. - Xav uses Drastic Core and not Murderous Intent Core. It's just a preference of his. Most ninja's run MI and I played around considering the MI is SA because 99.9% of people will have it and trying to punish an SA MI can fk you up sometimes. Xav is extremely proficient at using his whole kit and doesn't need to crutch on that skill so it was still very difficult. - I have a couple very obvious patterns that normally I can get away with because people just suck ass at fighting sorc, even strong players. He constantly punished me for these weaker patterns and you'll see that in the video. - Shadow Eruption -> Soul Reaper is a comfort habit for chip damage but Soul Reaper should almost never be used in near melee range because of its animation lock on startup. This is one of the easiest grab windows for Sorc. Of your big 3 SA's Grim, Swirl, Soul Grim and Swirl can be used in melee because you can cancel them while Soul has a guaranteed lock. I reccomend if you're going to linger this skill to use it farther from your opponent when they have grab threat. If the grab is down you can completely disrespect spacing as you'll see I did. - Shadow Leap -> Grim Reapers Judgement is a very nice engage and disengage. This allows you to cover your dissengage with a threat so that people are wary in chasing it. That said if you do it too much it'll become predictable and someone can just follow your leap and grab the end of it. This applies to any Leap > SA interaction. A step above this is grabing the block at the end of leap. - Shadow Leap -> Tbs > Blade of Darkness and or Swirling Darkness. This is a great engage and disengage as it allows you to make distance to freely set up a blade or you can continue pushing tempo with good SA damage and blade zoning pressure. This can be punished in the same ways stated above or with a well time punish at the tbs blade gap. - I want to implement jump s into my playstyle but its very difficult to see the windows vs classes with very fast burst movement. It feels like you're at threat no matter the distance you are at. - My stingers are rusty as hell and they are typically what suffers when I take large breaks from the game. I do think stinger is still good and I would throw it more if I was more conditioned. - Blades are broken and having the ability to create threat away from your character for zone control is extremely underrated. You will see me constantly using these to layer my offense and pad my defense. Throwing multiple blades and a simultaneous offensive threat like leap > grim or wings > swirling forces the opponent to make a lose lose choice. They have to give up cooldowns, their hp, or get cced. If they choose SA to block the blades they eat damage. If they use and fg or unprot they get cced and die. If they and its not a very strong like blockjump they risk getting hit stuttered by multiple things colliding with them and ripping them out of their protection. This is just 1 example of hitstun manipulation on Sorc. You can also do this with tendrils if you know someone kit well and understand spacing, but I think the warrior matchup is a better example of this concept. - A lot of "rules" on Sorc can be cheated with absolute darkness and ignition. You can waste your awakening on a tbs in awakening and cc stack with ignition to double cc and get to pre awakening so you aren't locked. The same thing goes for nightmare.
