Not a video I wanted to post. I held back on uploading this for a month or so. But I'm sick and tired of PA ignoring the community and our feedback. EDIT: TY for feedback seems a lot of us are on the page in terms of group content/pvp modes.

The biggest problem of BDO is "this is online game but we feel alone in it because more exp or drop if you grind alone or very low spot that encourage people to party". the favorite one are only mirumok, upper gyfin and olun. That's it. And to feel gyfin and olun, you need huge gear upgrade. impossible for newcomers. we feel alone in online game is so ironic, weird and shameful. they should learn more to Dragon Nest. DN has system about mentor and student, this system can lead to friendship and also give something to the booster so it will encourage old player to help new comer. so many other things to make BDO feels like real online game, I hope in future we got it.

On every MMO I've played, endgame/old players are often considered a problem from a business standpoint. These players have already mastered the game, know how to make money, and have acquired a lot of items and gear. This means they are utilizing the infrastructure without needing to spend money. As a result, developers may not prioritize listening to them. Instead, they are more likely to listen to new players who are spending money to gear up, purchase cosmetics, and enhance their items. Once these new players reach the endgame, they may be politely encouraged to leave, as their opinions may not carry as much weight.

Closest this game ever got to feeling like an mmo for me was grinding gyfins and oluns with friends and just chilling. Problem is that it takes hundreds and hundreds of hours to get to the gear you need to grind at those spots lol. I don't think a single end-game player right now even understands why they pushed through the horrible nothingness of the earlygame in BDO.

This is so sad. I quit this game 3 years ago and shaky is still asking for the things i quit for 3 years ago. I don't get it why they are unable to do it bdo easily has the potential to be the best mmorpg

Is there even a point in having a 700gs account now if I only care about PVP? I feel like arena of solare and t2 nodewars is the only way to enjoy PVP where it all relies on pure skill and not grinding for gear…

Man, I was like competitively playing ArcheAge for a decade now and I quit couple of months ago for the same reason you are stating about BDO rn. I started playing BDO recently and when I see this it just tells me to stay away from another awesome but neglected MMORPG. I guess its official, nobody even trying to make a decent game or tries to run existing ones properly. They literally don't give a shit what you or anyone else who played this for thousands of hours will say. They just work on hooking up fools like myself to try it out, pay few bucks and then who the fuck cares what happens next. It is sad.

the problem isnt even them removing forced open world pvp, as it's been a korean grinder since forever. the open world pvp removal is a necessary step as hardcapped red players have nothing to do but grief and annoy people, which en masse would ruin the game. aside from that name 1 long lasting MMO that was pvp focused... so the issue isnt limiting forced open world pvp, it's that they dont give us pvp alternatives that work. AoS is buggy as shit, but probably still the best alternative. nodewars getting nuked with no alternative and the worst part is that the BDO community is not capable of creating their own meaningful content, cause we simply dont get the tools to do so. if i wanna pvp without rewards for hours, bdo is not the game for that. the other thing is that they push us to pve, which isnt even a bad thing, given this kinda combat has crazy potential... however they somehow manage to make pve even more desyncy and janky than pvp, which makes any normal person lose all hope naturally. we have no meaningful group pve content, we have no reason to play this as an MMO and we have no reason to grind up gear. the only solution is for J to resign and let someone capable save the game edit: lmao shaky thinks putting less focus on outfits and shit will make other content develop quicker... as if the same people that create outfits are the ones coding content into the game xd

I totally agree with the issues you point out, but i feel there is one missing, an important one that is true for a lot of player that stop the game. The issue i have with the game is, casual playing isn't giving me anything, since i got my new job, sometimes i'm doing 60h a week, at the end of the day, i don't even have enough energy left to play, and i'm stuck with the same gear since march 2022. I'm seriously thinking to quite the game, since i have to enhance accessories and even if i dot a 10h grinding for a pen attempt, i can put thoses 10 hours to oblivion since the access will break and i have only my eyes left in tears. I don't have enough time for this, and now that, cap is everywhere in the game, why do i bother grinding anymore to gear up? i'm not using my gear anyway. Right now, i spend time doing something that is not giving me anything to improve in the game for something, i have no goal, no objectives, that's why i'm thinking to desinstall that game. Life is short, and i can't spend time on a game where i get no meaningful rewards playing it.

its hell, people will come on my grind rotation and stop me from grinding normally, what do I do, do I attack them and get punished? do I change servers and feel bullied? do I grind alongside with him on the same packs of mobs and waste my time? do I change to arsha where there are 320ap's grinding the 200ap spots for "fun"? so many choices in wasting my time

As someone who doesn't enjoy running in circles or pvping, it's hilarious to me to hear someone else have the exact same complaints about the game that i've had for a long time but for a completely different aspect of the game. I thought it was mostly the Life Skillers that felt abandoned by the games direction but it seems to be universal. We're gathering the same shit we were 6 years ago, cooking the same exact meals, literally 0 content. I hope this game does a massive 180 because the first 4 years of this game were amazing to me with the massive amount of viable content there was.

It would be nice if they had pvp options that games from 20+ years ago now even had. It amazes me to this day that they still haven't used the AoS gear system to make some ez que pvp gamemodes or playlist for newer players to learn the complex systems without a shitty 3v3 long respawn elimination mode. Where tf is just general team death match, big team battle, weird oddball game modes, king of the hill, general death match. Not to mention all of the things that would be nice to have a chill way to fight hordes of mobs co-op with randos and functionally make it a positive experience to interact with other players in the world to build relationships in an MMO. Always thought it was sad that the Trina Fort area was never a big co-op area defense game that you can just go and shoot the shit with randos defending every once in awhile as an event.

I believe them half-assing is to stretch out content for the year.

They might as well remove Red Players or the Karma system now since you're just gonna get banned no matter what happens if there is PVP, as a matter of fact might as well remove the Force PVP button. You are totally right about the fact that we are not getting PVP rewards. For so long there is no PVP rewards system, I was actually looking forward for something like what you said, now that PVP is dying, there is really no point on playing this game. I'm actually grinding for nothing now. Also I can't even grind for 5 mins, the game.. is just.. so.. damn.. boring with grinding. . I totally agree with all the things you said about the game so far, the events(they just give you coupons, this shit never changes why not just give it to all players? They already access to EVERYONE's account), the gear(why go any further? You're just stuck now, can't even get pass TET for anything really), the life skill system(I ain't doing chores in a damn game).

PA just need to copy some good group content from other games.. like TL, just saw some vidz and it seems pretty fun tbh. A lot of potential good upcoming MMOs that can rival BDO's combat.. would be a waste if PA devs can't come up w/something good.

Bdo has a huge map, if they added some mystery to their map it’d promote exploration(with friends if wanted), dungeons and raids are a must, pvp is cool to me I personally don’t mind that losing battle against someone hunting you or a guild that decals you randomly and now you have to move carefully or risk being farmed (I’m also a from software lover so take my masochism with a grain of salt). Taking away that element of uncertainty from the world of bdo is going to hurt it badly, if they do this they really have to amp up the pve aspect because I know for a fact I play bdo as much as I do so I can get stronger and open world pvp to my heart’s content without worrying about penalties irl lol (small personal tidbit I’d love for the karma to be dramatically increased to promote more open world pvp but that’s just me n my craziness)

Bro, i thought i was going insane for thinking all of that. The game never felt more shallow than it is right now, and nobody i've played with saw any problems whatsoever for some reason... Every single patch is just a huge nothing with a sprinkle of nothing. No content, no important changes to make the game more organic. Feels like its gonna be a slow decline from now on. Since you already addressed many interesting points, I'm gonna share my uncommon opinion. I like doing quests and I think they should be more rewarding. Because now they're just a waste of time, unless you're a conpletionist that likes to have every quest completed. Also, as someone who is already overwhelmed by the PvP, but would love to get into it, I'm very turned off by the whole elixir and food rotation idea. It just makes me feel like I need to p2w for the fairy and more inventory slots. And the fact that BDO made me feel annoyed by seeing another player on my minimal, is kind of disgusting. It's an MMO and all I wanna do is be alone. Before BDO I played many years of guildwars2 and there it was the opposite .. always excited to see another player. Literally only positives to not be alone.

Pearls - silver and silver - pearls is an interesting idea. The problem is that whaling for good gear would be an actual thing if the exchange rate is somewhat respectable, as he said in the video, its practically impossible to whale your whole gear set

Biggest problem i saw over the past years is . group content.....they dont really add it and if then the content is so much worse than solo content....can anyone remember the days where we ran sausans in random groups and sell all the item via special market? god damn i miss this shit it was the best time i can remember we had so much fun but now...if u group up for grind u get punished for it

I put a good amount of hours into FF14, GW2 and ESO over the last few years that I feel like I've noticed similar complaints amongst the communities for each game. MMOs have to service such a wide range of player needs, it's bound to upset different parts of the community at times. For BDO, I will say that their focus feels like it has been on the new player experience. I tried BDO back in 2017 (I think?) and again a year later but I just couldn't stick with it. This time around, the game feels way better with season characters, less item clutter, better storage, a free dream horse, tons of rewards and easy gear leveling. I don't doubt you're right about your feedback but for someone who just hit level 60 on a character for the first time, it's been a way more fun experience than in the past. From my perspective, it feels like the game is in such a better place then before and is a ton of fun. But I can understand how its not so much the same from your side.

This is a similar path wow took , making the game more approachable for new players and players who have less time to play. This is not necessarily bad for the game but definitely bad for thw hardcore audience.

Idk the dungeon failed BECAUSE they just copied other mmos dungeon, speed through the dungeon kill the boss. They had the oportunity to change things and make the dungeon part more intresting rather than make a boring boss fight with stupid mechanics like any other mmo. The rewards are nuts but they are weekly locked... I always say, in BDO the most fun aspect is to play your character so make your content focus around playing your class and not about the boss. The current dungeon bosses don't follow this concept. Count how often a color shines xD remove thes sh*t and actualy let me play my class in a meaningful way! Grinding is the other extreme, were it has the problem of being not versatile enough, you just use the same combo over and over again in a circle. Adding group content can easily be done the wrong way and make the game worse. BDO is are really unique and can't be compared to your normal western mmo. Copying stuff won't really work. They should focus on their strengths and create content with that in their minds

Can't wait to grind 720+ gear score and the only place to use it is RBF, thank you PA! They chose to remove one sided decs to help the new influx of Lost Ark players in Korea and guess what, they all quit and went back to Lost Ark already and J decided the changes won't be reverted. The guy is a clown and he's single handedly killing the game himself.

I like PVE way more than PvP in BDO, the game is also designed more towards PVE grinds instead of unbalanced PvP.. It did add some flavor towards zone keeping, but was too annoying for new players and Shai to be ganked for no benefits at all.. I believe the game could win so much if they focused more towards multiplayer, co-op group content - it is still too much solo grinding..

Bdo should take a page out of an old mmo I played as a kid, Mabinogi. It was really fun because almost everything in the game is community based, sure you could solo but it was always most efficient to do things as a group and even if you solo'd bringing along someone weak to help them get stronger never punished you. Theres not really any reason to interact with any one in bdo, and youre typically punished for doing so. No reason to help lowbies no reason to group up. Its just a single player game that you share a world with others in.

I was so hyped before starting playing this game, but now I dont even wanna play anymore, sad to hear what is happening to pvp in bdo.

As someone who has invested significant amounts of time and money in the game, I really just want 2 things... queued group content... more dungeons with meaningful rewards (like a couple of new slots that get equipment solely from dungeons, with a multi-tier setup. Regular difficulty can have sellable gear, but also a hard mode to get something 5-10% better that's bound on pickup), and battleground style pvp with a quick queue. GvG is not the same, PvP server is not the same, open world PvP is not the same. 15-20 minute closed area PvP sessions are fun, quick, and addictive... they would also boost the average players PvP skills, keeping them from getting upset when they get PK'd in the open world.

Tbh i have no idea what is BDO. I have play Bdo since realese but i have no idea what to do. All i know is that PVP is hard to get in but grinding for to get pen gear takes alot of time. I only do the grinding part but i wish there was alot kore to do on PVE like dungeons(i know theres like a dungeon quest but it sucks) Raids ect.....

Actually It is a very long progress to build a character because of that I could understand the GvG thing. Think about it you are trying to level up to reach the other players someone comes and continuosly killing you and you loose your progress because of loosing XPs . It is imposible for new players to reach high level characters, make people quiting the game.

You're missing a vital point regarding what the community wants and its improvements to the engine itself. They need to do a major engine overhaul to solve the annoying stuttering that occurs constantly in pvp fights for most of the player base and to improve the performance from small scale to large scale battles. Just look at Throne And Liberty in large pvp, using an unreal engine with amazing/stunning graphics with the latest technologies and having smooth gameplay without hiccups. :(

Its sad to hear this when I was thinking about coming back. One of the more interesting things that would happen on BDO for me was getting griefed and started a mini war over it. The community is pretty balanced between people who wanna kill you for no reason and people who wanna help you kill those people in my experience. It was self regulating. It would be interesting to see open world arenas like the stranglethorn vale thing in OG WoW. A chest spawns every few hours with decent loot for people to fight over, you automatically got flagged when you walked into the arena.

Look, i don't care too much about pvp in bdo but i accepted it and i participated when i had to basically just deffending myself more than anything and if i lost i may try again or just leave. Switch channels or something. Getting rid of it though is just making it worse for both sides, mostly just more bordom that theyre already struggling to cure.

Should of just been the system we originally thought it was where when you declare war, it cost a large amounts of money to declare war and then it cost you hourly to keep it up unless it was accepted. We ALL at launch thought thats how it worked till we realized it was not. Kind of stupid honestly the best thing they could do is kill PK and one-sided gvg. I don't believe they killed pvp, they killed PK. If your PKing players you can be banned for it, launch had the most pvp and pking and the zones were contested to even grind in, now theres multiple servers to constantly swap from to be uncontested and marnis realm to even further not interact with others. You don't need to interact with other players at ALL playing BDO unless you want to do NW or Siege. There was a point in BDO's history we as a collective of people used to kill people to keep the top growth player from reaching a level before others ect. The game had interesting mechanics, and promoted pvp, which was its end game. Then they realize that market is not sustainable long term and slowly changed to focus pve, ignoring and forgetting pvp content, but WITHOUT ADDING PvE actual content, just more grind spots, The stuff being added is NOT content. Only a few things since launch has been actual content, and not just new class, and grind spots. The few things that was fun like Shadow Arena with the survival gameplay mode got made into a separate game and ruined, even though it was mass amount of exploit and cheaters when it was on live. With NO moderation to that. But it was a blast and gave things for people to do. Dungeons AND raids with guild content in instanced Pve Content like most MMOs if they are looking to revamp the entire concept should of been a focus to add content and meaningful/challenging content through those. I remember doing guild boss scrolls for a chance at a liverto at launch and it being fun but there is no reason to do it with no rewards that are viable. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY stop having 3 separate subscriptions for the game, roll them into the value pack. That said un-installed after getting a ban for random pking even though I am mostly in non-existant playing mode only taking my login rewards and pking randomly to keep an interest in what I loved about the pvp.

I always check in on this game even tho i only played it for like 8 hours total over 5 years, i never rly cared about the pvp and didnt like the forced pvp but that isnt what stopped me from playin or just dont like what this game has to offer, dont like the progression but i thought hey this their thing whatever. for them to start shitting on pvp as if they built up any pve content alternative is wild to me and i feel sorry for u guys

i realy done feel like they should focus on the pve dungeons and raids. or atleast the last part of the things they should fix. BDO has always be a OWpvp GVG sandbox without a crazy indepth lifeskilling. i do hope they implement some of the open world events you suggested. maybe also introduce a way for people to bet on pvp arena battle. return -1 exp owpvp death and proper cops and robbers system.

I gave up on the console version switched to PC and just seemed the same thing and just got to the point where it seemed the same till end game. They just need to enhance what they got.

I dont think the problem with PA is about not listening, the likely problem is they have no creativity and are incapable of doing sufficient thinking to build the game other than new areas and new mobs.

New glabs patch gave us 3 options for pvp changes. Definitely review and give opinions on that. Pvp should pay, equal work for equal pay. More game modes for pvp that pay. Taxcart, team battle, ffa, hardpoint, one life. Group pve and dungeons that pay meaningfully Factions good evil neutral where penalties are harsh when fighting same faction or neutral. No crystal break or death penalties if fighting proper faction. Maybe bounties and assassinations. Let neutrals pay for protection. Can only flag or unflag in safe zone with minimum time requirements for unflagging. There should be a big uncapped war like seige but it should be less frequent and have bigger payouts, I think it would be better if wars weren't every day and all at the same time. Node war type fights at times other than 6pm pt... would be nice to have a noon or midnight big fight. Even if only instance and a gamemode. 100v100 or 200 v 200 merc fight.

What about Life skills in addition to PvP , Life skills almost feel like a chore atm and the money u make from it is dog do do. Gathering for hours on end to meals to cook meals to cook meals to combine into the big meal similar with alchemy simplify it alil and make it more rewarding to do they system is interesting but atm it’s just way to much and not that rewarding. Trade and Barter as well not rewarding for the time spent doing it but interesting content I could go on and on and on .

Silver to pearls is a great idea. They have something similar in BDM.

Devs know that the game is old, 10 year old game engine, they will not invest anymore in it, does not make sense since they don't profit. The only thing they can do is to announce BDO 2, take out p2w, maybe let people who bought costumes and pets use them in DDO 2 and remove the p2w stats on them. I don't think investing and trying to revive a 10 year old game is worth budget wise, there are some game engine limitations because of that. Many bugs, bad auto pathing, crystal braking on death and much more.

Dont overcomplicate things, china is passing a law that restricts gotcha things in games, casino boxes AND forced pvp(it makes people spend money on game that what chinese gov thinks) so if your game is getting any money from china you will change things up.

These changes destroyed what was left of console. Everytime they make it easier for pc, it breaks console. I feel bad for the ones who can't get a pc. They truly got screwed. The game needs to have fighting over resources. Letting everyone grind unchallenged makes everyone on edge and bored.

BDO has always been basically a single player game with a public market. The PvP is just nerds trying not to mess up iFrames.

This fucking game is salty as sea water and i believe that the absolute atmosphere players were enjoying playing this game... am not a pvp best teir player but i feel the game so hollow now... its barely you find a reason to be stronger and kick someone else... this game shall die uneless they create 24/7 server for whole continent to enjoy something like world vs world system in Guild Wars 2 game. It's absolutely fun and shows a great tactical gameplay and skills

None of my friends want to start their bdo journey, because at its core, its a single player game. If there were more group/guild content, they'd actually join the game. Pearl Abyss is zoning out a massive playerbase. Why would new players sign up for a "game" that you just solo grind circles, for gear that you can't use for open world pvp. GG PA, GG.
