The Dark Rock Elite is Be Quiet’s new high end CPU Cooler. Let’s take a closer look.
What’s up everyone, Erik here and welcome to Hardware For Gamers. For those who are new to the channel, I review and test PC cases, CPU coolers, PC case fans and graphics cards. Before I get into the overview, to have Full disclosure. Be Quiet sent me this cooler to test and review, But all opinions are 100% mine, so if you end up finding this video helpful please hit that thumbs up button.

Okay just so everyone understands there are 2 new dark rock coolers The elite, and the Pro 5. Be quiet was kind enough to send me both of these coolers. So, I’ll quickly go over the differences. The first main difference is the front fans; the Elite has a custom 135 mm fan while the Pro 5 has a modified Silent Wings 4 120 PWM fan. The modification being, it spins 400 rpm faster. The next main difference is the center fans. Although the fans look much the same, the Elite’s fan has a max rated rpm of 2000 while the PRO 5’s fan has a max rated RPM of only 1700. plus the elite has an aRGB ring along the top and the PRO 5 has no aRGB. Those are the 3 main differences. The heatsinks are the same, besides the rails on the front of the Elite that hold the custom 135 mm fan. These rails do have… notches… on them, so the adjustment of the front fan on the elite is from notch to notch. I’ll show some b roll, and hopefully that makes sense…

I bought the Be Quiet Dark Rock pro 5 between the two choices from BeQuiet. The ram clearance was a big thing for me. There was no way im going to have half that fan lifted up. Great review!!

Yes I 100% agree. Which is why I also tested the cooler with just the center fan to see how much it would affect the temperature.

Great review, as usual! That's a biggie and I'd suspect it may not fit in most average-sized cases. Then again, with the latest GPU's and such all be enormous it could bode well for those upper-level PC's.

Indeed. It ends up being about or just slightly smaller than the D15. Which makes sense since they perform much the same.

It's definitely a nice looking cooler. Just wish it was cheaper, and came in white. The Nh-D15 g2 makes it look cheap though in comparison. The upcoming Thermalright coolers being mostly in the $35-45 range will make everything else like poor value.
