Professor Pamela Gillies CBE, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University, ALU's academic partner interviews Graça Machel, ALU Chancellor and Former Minister of Education, Mozambique at the ALU Grand Opening gala dinner.
They talk about education, leadership, feminism, pan-Africanism and more. Mama Graça also advises students to “embrace all the innovation that the world has to offer but be uncompromising in remaining deeply African.”

I am very Proud of You!!! Chancellor of ALU, Graça Machel, May God Bless You. your world are like candles that en-right inner feeling flourishing our Inspiration, African Patriotism, and motivating us to Strive for Excellency. It's true we have to fight against any kind of discrimination wherever and whenever we can recognize it, paying respect and discipline must be our own habits and morals. We youths need people, parents who speak on our-behalf, who listen our thoughts, who value our needs, interests, and our passion. We still need you, and we really need people like you. May God keep you safe.Thanks a lot. We love you.
