Lyrics:
I don’t know where to run, everything feels so wrong
There’s man with a mask in my home, kneeling in front of a confessional
I only know a few chords, and a lot of mixed metaphors
It’s hard to think I’m responsible for even myself, much less this girl
No light came at dawn, and I am barely holding on
The shutter snapped and it froze the frame, but I barely recognize my face
I only know a few chords, and a lot of mixed metaphors
It’s hard to think I’m responsible for even myself, much less this girl
One day I’ll be better, I hope that you never
Feel as lost as I do today
It changes with the weather, It’s the worst in November
My head swirls as the colors change
I drown it in alcohol so I can sleep
I’m not strong, no not enough
To wake and face the morning sun
Unexceptional, completely and totally forgettable
Maybe it’s not rational, but nothing makes sense to me at all
I know it isn’t fashionable, but I wear it so well
One day I’ll be better, I hope that you never
Feel as lost as I do today
It changes with the weather, It’s the worst in November
My head swirls as the colors change
I drown it in alcohol I never thought that I would end up here this way
There is a storm cloud outside that I can’t ignore
The water’s rushing in through an open door
Slowly it rises
I can still breathe, but I have to be reminded
That my heart is still beating and this feeling will pass
It can feel defeating, but it never lasts
And through a different lens the glass is half full in fact, I got it
But there’s a storyline that is only in my head
I’ve spent half of my life wishing I was dead
If there is part of this that I shouldn’t have said, I’m sorry
To fix it I have to get back to the place it first started

I am literally in tears watching all of the BE WELL lyric videos and such. As a 53 year old, drowning in despair, I haven't had a band hit me this hard since the 90's. Thank you for helping me not feel alone.

I was crying at the show last night, man. Managed to keep the tears back earlier, but they were streaming down my face during this song as I was singing along. It's weird that I've heard so many bands talk about the same subject, but the songs on this album are just so recognizable... Exposing all the secret little habits and weird contradictions and thought patterns, that I kept to myself for so long - the duality of some things, coping mechanisms, "doing well" but feeling worthless, etc. It's like.. I felt less alone knowing that someone else was going through the same weird brain tangles, and was doing the exact same self-destructive, self-medicative dumb things (despite 'knowing better', whatever that means) 41 years old here, by the way. Cheers from Amsterdam -- And Brian, Mike, and the other dudes are amazing people, by the way. Must be strange as hell to have people in the audience burst into tears at shows. - Btw, check out: Stick To Your Guns - "Diamond" Record from 2012. That's the previous one that had me in tears (title tracks are about simultaneously being brave / a coward, honest / a liar, vital / tired.. Basically this thing we have looked at from a perspective of zen Buddhism, I guess) And: Darkest Hour - "Undoing Ruin" (apart from 1 track, about repairing things when coming back home after months of tour. Lyrics hit pretty hard as well) - the opening track "With A Thousand Words To Say But One" had me in tears too It's thrash metal / metalcore, but DH has always been touring like a hardcore band (and with hardcore bands). Album is from 2005 on Victory Records (mostly a hardcore label, as you undoubtedly know) Anyways.. Take care, man And share your thoughts and feelings with people you love and/or trust. (Or just a stranger that you feel a connection with - sometimes you have those moments). Or indeed a psychologist Don't keep that shit bottled up inside

Hasn't been the greatest 3-4 years for me, music has been my only therapy. I had heard of Be Well but never pushed the play button until one day.......blown away. May sound corny, but these lyrics seem like they came from my mouth. With the dark storm cloud overme, I'm reminded I'm a Dad and that is my only job. I have to forget my own happiness and just push forward. I can only say thank you for this art/music as it has had a huge impression on me. One day I hope not to be so lost and maybe just maybe I can smile again.

Maybe as a true non militant straight edge person he understands that the entire world isn’t straight edge. It’s meant to be relatable to every one...and straight edge people relapse, maybe that’s why he started Be Well. He did say this album was about dealing with his demons. Whatever the reason I’m thankful for this band forming and putting out such an amazing record.

@@abelhernandez316 It was just something which surprised me. This has nothing to do with militant. There is a large gap between seeing life in a way, the pros, the cons (if there are any) and a militant stance. No offense to anyone. Spoke to Brian via a small chat, all good. It's a good thing he's battling his demons and that we have this awesome album available :-) There are just so many stories in hardcore. Tragic, see Turning Point or interesting, see Ray Cappo.

It sounds like you’re talking about something very specific to you and hoping that this generalization will be the one-size-fits-all solution to all fear in this world for everybody. If you project that onto hypothetical others I think it might really turn into something spiteful distracting you from what you need to do for yourself. I know I’ve definitely talked like this before, not necessarily about God but ultimately making it everyone else’s problem while convincing myself I have it all figured out. These are dark times that were prophesied. There is freedom in Christ. Many times in my life I questioned why I felt so lost. Nothing makes sense until you find truth in Christ and remove the vail that was placed by the Father of Lie. Just ask Jesus to set you free. Romans 8 1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.a 2 For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin.c He thus condemned sin in the flesh, 4so that the righteous standard of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace, 7 because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those controlled by the flesh cannot please God. 9 You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you. 12 Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation, but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ-if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him. 18I consider that our present sufferings are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed in us. 19The creation waits in eager expectation for the revelation of the sons of God. 20For the creation was subjected to futility, not by its own will, but because of the One who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. 22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until the present time. 23 Not only that, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved; but hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he can already see? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it patiently. 26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words. 27 And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified. 31 What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is there to condemn us? For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God-and He is interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
