We'd had enough of the rain on the North Shore of Kauai and decided to brave the traffic going South to Koloa. Our goal is Poipu Beach Park, surrounded by excellent eateries, and known as 'Sunny Poipu', the area seldom disappoints in weather. The area also boasts some of the most affordable eating on the island, with $10 or $12 being plenty to feed a person, so long as you don't order alcohol. If you want to see Seals, Sea Turtles, and giant waves spouting 30 feet in the air by narrow lava rock channels, this is the place to go. Just, don't do what I did and assume the next wave will be as small as the last!
