Hey Doc, great idea testing that mat out in Washington, and working with Rob. I have been considering heading out there to try my luck. With this new wave mat in the arsenal it should make clean up a lot easier. Please keep it up!

I always bring a brush because my gold hog mats won't let go! I've been tempted to try the beach w/my multi-sluice when I can't get in the mountains. Nice video and informative.

Doc, I find you to be a very smart person. Thank you for all your educational videos as that's how I see them. Besides trying to have fun and have good quality time with my son prospecting has pulled my son and myself closer together. Although we were already closed you know how it is if you have kids how fast they grow and spending every moment with them counts. So thank you for your videos and your generosity.

Definitely excited to run this mat series on the old tailings at the mill sites that ran trommels in my area (Western Mohave)... in the past we had to heavily modify our dry washers to capture the fines... -150 ~ -300 mainly due to winds actually wisping our fines away... yeah that happens so with an old mobile detailing tank for water we are gonna try it. We have already tested the multi and it did well... 6oz over 11days with varying amounts actually running in the field. The old tromell sites left so much behind.... and it’s been real lucrative for the patient type... often irritating but once u figure out a system it works. Most of these sites ran for years and the tailings (more like flat sand pits) are loaded by volume but no one ever cared to try cause getting the fines is like working beach sands like Ray and this guy.

Love your videos, my comment is on your scrub brush! I have noticed on my Hog Mats even if i think i caught no gold I scrub them and find Micro gold stuck to them. Micro but Gold. Scrub your mats!! Its small but its gold!

Great video. Question, if there was gold to the end of your sluice, how much do you think you're losing and would you use a different configuration of mats to catch it higher up the sluice. Maybe removing the wave mat at the end and adding a higher capture mat??

this was an intriguing vid for me, we’ve been prospecting a river valley off and on for the last few years that is all black sand and garnet. this could be a solution to finding a method for the laborious task gong through vast amounts of material involved in that area. thanks!

hey doc , do you have any mats designed for australian soils ? id love to test them and do a review on it . we have mostly red dirt and red gravels here in western australia . there are still black sands at the bottom of the pan , but the most of the dirt is iron stone as u can imagine with red dirt and red gravels

I am only asking because I have never had to take a brush to clean any of my Hog Mats. Did you scrub your new mats in warm, soapy water with a soft bristle brush before you used them?
@washingtonbeachmining77365 жыл бұрын
Yes i did more than once before I installed them into the sluice. I was a little surprised about it too. I figure after a few more attempts it would let go of the gold by dipping them. Well at least the gold did not blow itself out and the mat held it.

So with a new (Dec 2019) Raptor Flare 2.0 and extension would a 2200 or 3700 electric pump work for Wa. Beach gold? (I know that Doc recommends a 2” trash pump for normal applications) What is the standard mat configuration that currently ships with the Raptor Flare? What is the current configuration for the extension? What is the current consensus on Best mat setup after testing for the Wash beach gold? Thanks

So I have watched all the wave mat videos and want to know if it would be good mat in my Gold Cube, all three levels or what? Looks like it would be great. I mainly run beach sands in Washington. And do you sell it cut for the Gold Cube? Thanks

Wonder how many billions of dollars of fine gold is lying on those beaches. When the true price of gold settles on us after this inflation accelerates - that might be some serious money.

WA, Everett, Mill Town Creek. Just got back f/ beach. Thought I kept seeing something sparkly in the water in the pan. Down to black sand. Confirmed though with a web check it is suspended in the water so what I saw in the water was Gold particles ? That's alot of gold everywhere. I think we were a Supernova too many heavies beyond Fe. First pan. Water was warm. Thought the ghost shrimp might do me in. There may be alot of gold on the Ocean floor. Tired. He said there's a Season to it. What is the season please? Wondering if it follows the moon cycle and then we're tipped and the more massive the object the stronger the interaction.

I would use 3 inch hydro force nozzle 3 inch pump with a Highbank dredge unit would move tons in hours

Darn. I was hoping for a huge mat that I could lay down on a beach and let the waves bring in the sand and keep the gold. LOL Still this looks like wonderful mat for fine gold. Guess I still have to shovel into a highbanker. It sure is pretty to see all those fines that were captured here.

What about Oregon beach mining? Is it different? Can you pan for gold in Oregon?
@cacogenicist5 жыл бұрын
In Oregon, south of Florence -- particularly from Coos Bay to down around Gold Beach. Find black sands. No motorized pumps -- no power equipment of any kind allowed. Find little streams cutting across the beach for sluicing. Gold is _very_ fine (but can be fairly plentiful) and hard to separate from the heavy, magnetic black concentrate.

you speak of "season", hunting for gold is seasonal?

I am SO glad you are actually leaving comments open, finally. I know you get a bunch of trolls on your videos but, I can't tell you how mad it makes me not to be able to make a comment or read the comments on your videos. I wouldn't even subscribe to the channel because of it. I know you don't have time to respond to every troll comment on here, but I don't even think you should. Most of them are baseless and they show more the ignorance of the commenter. Personally, I just want to give feedback on your videos, and you made me suffer for the actions of the trolls. Good luck in your ventures, and thanks for the videos!
