I just ordered this metal detector. I'm new to this and several websites had this one rated as their #1 metal detector for a beginner.

Nice to see SCDiggers little helper. Kids are wonderful and their spontaneity is good to see. He had not the slightest problem pocketing the money, just as if he was the only reason you were there. It was lovely. It has happened to me too, one of the real joys of the hobby. Thanks SCDigger.

From the user manual page 9 NOTE: This detector will not completely eliminate interference from all types of minerals. For example, the detector IS NOT designed for use on wet sand saltwater beaches. Another example of soil this detector will not eliminate is any soil containing large concentrations of iron oxides, which are usually red in color.

Very nice hunt, gotta love a waterproof machine right :) I love that about my AT Pro, and I just bought a waterproof housing for my Ace350, wouldn't want to go back to a pure land machine again. That ring is a nice find.

Hi SCdigger, I live in Switzerland and I've started to learn the tones of my Fisher F22. I noticed that 5 cents and 5 francs does 40-44, 10&20 cents does 30-34, 50 cents does 27-29, 1 fr I forgot, 2 fr is 39-40. As for aluminum I got between 22-30+35+36+40-42. Now, I tested some gold jewelry and most of them are in the iron tones between 12-19. The most expensive gold ring I tested was 19+24+25+29+32+34-37+41+42. So ever since I've done this test I've been digging up iron pieces all the times. My question is: How do you know when it's gold and when it's iron? What can I do to recognize gold tones?

could you put the metal detector like 1 or 2 feet in the water? or not? please help me!
