It's amazing how easy it is to find theses old watches at thrift stores , flea markets and online , the faces are all different and unusual so if your looking for that something different in your bead work give them a try .You may even have a few hidden away in your jewelry box just waiting for you .
If you enjoy my videos and would like to see more you can support my channel thru purchases at my shop www.etsy.com/shop/turtlesoupbeads
Unfortunately videos not only take many hours of my time but have actual production costs involved I prefer to keep my videos free for all and greatly appreciate all those who support my channel through my shop - thank you
I purchase all the products I use so I can give a honest and unbiased review .
Not all of my pieces are available for purchase but are shared for visual inspiration .My original designs are free to use in all your personal work for craft fairs and art shows however if you are to copy them for sale or reproduction in videos or on the internet you need my express written permission . If you post on facebook or instagram my designs or any other artist please give them credit so other people can learn and be inspired .

How wonderful! Taking it a little further, I'd like to take one that runs and bead it up into a watch band! That would be gorgeous! But I'm not really beady 😞.

You could use a working watch to make a pendant watch. I wish my hands could do such things but arthritis makes it difficult. I love the ideas especially when one person commented you that you could possibly change the date on the face of the clock if it has hands to represent an important event/anniversary. If it is still working you can put a watch battery in to set the time but then remove the battery. I love the old brooch watches that hang upside down so that you can read them. I bet you could make something quite whimsical. Since I am an older lady, I might decide to become whimsical. I've been so serious all my life, worked since I was 14. Thank you so much for your inspiration. These are beautiful and look quite opulent. I can only imagine the amount of time it took to put in the details. ❤️ From West Virginia👵

“ Stuck in Time”, “ Out of Time”, “ Just in Time”, “ It’s Time”, “ It’s All about Time”, “ It’s the Time of the Season “; ... Your pieces are beautiful and artistically well made “ Masterpieces “. I was in Michael’s last night after I had gotten off from work and I noticed strings of different colors of stones ( all the beads are 50% Off ) and different sizes. I thought, “ Hum-m-m, I wonder what I could do with those?” Today, you have provided me with my answer. Thank you so Very much, Susan. (I know what I can do with all those watches I have collected during all these years and can probably add a few from the Thrift Stores too.) Susan, You are artistically gifted. Thank you so Very, Very much. I admire your work and I appreciate you for sharing your concepts with me/us in your tutorials. ✨👍👍✨

I really appreciate the attention to detail that you give your tutorials, Susan - especially when you ensure we can see extreme close-ups of your work, even though that may make it harder at your end to create for us in an uncomfortable position sometimes! What is often best for the _camera angle_ is rarely best for the person doing the making... 🥴 So, thank you! 🙏🏼🤍

I know nothing of beading (wrong type of crafter), but this video is a great example of how to teach crafting techniques. you clearly explain the difference between what makes the piece work physically (like, adding side connections to strengthen & prevent spinning), what to think about aesthetically (putting the pieces next to each other, thinking about visual texture) & personal taste. you even give pointers on efficient crafting supply acquisition. great video.

Susan, after being a fan for years I can honestly say that you just keep getting better. The clear and lovely process that you lay out is user-friendly without background noise or boring repetitions (dog snoring is normal here). I can guess your selections when you are showing options because you are true to the voice or tone that the project reveals. Every detail adds to the story to create your gorgeous OOAK pieces with sparkling bling. The long process to produce these vids are so appreciated. Loving the 'show stopper' PC beads too. Never can get too much "Alice" or "Willy Wonka" magic. I have about a dozen old watches that I now know how to use. Thank you! Smiles, Constance in N. AZ, USA.

I love love love this Susan! Hoarder of gorgeous tidbits to use one day - yes, I'm very happily guilty. My mum collected watches. Of course in her case they all needed to work but she saved the ones that didn't to someday be repaired. I've also collected unique watch faces for years & previously used them in mixed media but I still have a big cigar box filled to the brim. This is an ideal use for my precious trinkets. I was exhausted after watching (get it?!) this. So much work goes into these pieces, and I hope you are proportionately remunerated for your efforts (although, I suspect not.) Artists are in a constant battle with the ignorant who have no clue about the time and skill that goes into creating their work. I know from personal experience when people question me about why my paintings cost so much my answer is always the same, I ask them, "would YOU work for $2 per hour?" The answers are obviously always the same, they say, "of course not." Anyway, I loved this video and I have subscribed. Cheers from Oz! 🦘
