He was a few years younger than my Papaw. Common theme is that generation had a no-nonsense way about them. Bear was obsessed with working and winning to the end. My grandfather worked until his stroke killed him. And he didn’t play around. Been through a lot in this world.

I had an high school coach that would say kids had attitudes and you wouldn't want them and wouldn't give transcripts. He also used to throw letters in the trash. He would help kids in Special class (slow) never kids with academics. Those kids came back home. Everyone of them.
