You'd think at a show that big with thousands of people a day going through that they would want to put their best foot forward and be prepared to share the product and its full capability. I agree! I think some of the these guys have jumped on the Mathews and Hoyt band wagon so hard that they refuse to let it be known that Bear is now producing bows to hang with other Flagships. So these guys just try to find anything to say something bad about the bow. 🙄 I own the Kuma LD and made my purchase after shooting the Mathews Vertrix (which I did not like at all), the Bowtech Realm X and PSE Evoke. The Bear Kuma was Smooth, quiet, dead in the hand and very fast!! I was left scratching my head that it performed just as good, if not better, then the Mathews and the Bowtech Realm and it was about 100 - 200 dollars cheaper! So I went with the Kuma! Now I hear the new Bear Status EKO is even better then the Kuma! The Status will probably be my next bow.

@@griffin2599 I disagree. I've shot all the bows for years and Bear doesn't impress me. I try to be nice by not saying that in my videos, but they left me a little flat. Everyone has their own preferences, but I felt that the Bear Approach HC had more going for it than the Kuma when you talk bang for the buck.

Well, like Jeff Copenhaver said about comparing the Kuma to the Triaxx “its every bit it’s equal” and I would agree with him 100%. I shot the Vertrix and was not impressed with it at all. Definitely would not spend 1200 bucks on that thing. It was terrible. Anyways, I know guys that own bow shops, been shooting a long time and go to the ATA shows and also shoot all the bows too and they would disagree with you on the Kuma. So it’s just a matter of preference I guess.

That's smart. It would solve that issue, but still comes off the back too easily for my personal taste. The draw lengths being so far off also threw me a bit.

First of all, try shooting them both and see which feels better to you.. If they both feel good enough then go with your gut feeling on it. I'd say no matter what you buy, there's a chance you will feel a little frustrated at times so be prepared for that even if you dump a lot of money on your first bow.

I think it is a good bow. Bear sent me a bear Alaskan and I really like it.

I've never worked on one of those but I'd suggest checking the owners manual. If you don't have one then you can get it off their website. It should be listed in there. God bless you

They probably know you are there and can see you when you are on the one side of the tree. (Too much movement) They most likely winded the spot at some point and so know to at least look up where they know you will be when they are approaching. If they see you, they don't come...

Thanks for watching. I reached out many times to Athens and they do not respond. I have not been able to find anyone to let me do an Athens review. I have even had people write to me telling me they wrote to Athens asking them to help me review their bows and nothing ever came of it. I will still be open to doing it but as of right now I don't have any outlet to do that.

What do you mean when you say the cables keep slipping?

Sean's Outdoor Adventures the guy at the bow shop sets the cables so that they are equidistant from the stoppers, I guess they are called. We take a few shots, put the bow back on the machine and the cable is close to one stopper and far away from the other one. We’ve put 7 1/2 hours into trying to set it, plus the countless hours he has put in by himself, and we are no where close to being done. I’ve dropped over $300 already and the arrows are still flying crooked.

Sean's Outdoor Adventures I don’t know. The Guy at the bow shop said hybrid cams are almost impossible to tune. Have you had any experience with difficulty tuning the Kuma 30?

@@kinderdude1 No, but I also don't agree with the person at the bow shop. I have tuned many hybrid cams and had the timing really on. If you are timing it and it is on one minute and off the very next then there is something else wrong. I haven't really liked a lot of the flagship bear models over the recent years which is why I haven't tuned any or messed with them.

It wasn't bad. It was an okay bow. It didn't excite me, but we all have our own preferences.

They are still top of the line , lifetime warranty for there bows and they are very smooth and really hold up well under abuse !!!

Lol, not much help when a bow is basically a piece of junk as this bow was. I tried to be nice about it, but that is probably why they wisely and completely dropped it for 2019. The Kuma shot worse then their beginner bow, the Approach and Approach HC. As for punching the trigger, you clearly don't seem to know what you are talking about as this is a thumb activated release and even if I was punching it (which I wasn't), you wouldn't be able to see that because you can't see my thumb in this angle. And, if you thought you were watching my finger and thought I was punching it, well watch again because I don't know what you were looking at. Also note how I cut each clip to shorten the length of the video, but each time I was at full draw, I took my time and gently added pressure to the thumb till it eventually went off, but I cut all that time out, so maybe you misperceived the cuts in the clips as punching... I clearly do know the difference between a wrist style trigger release and a thumb release. You are using a trigger release with your thumb. I have never seen that suggested. But if it works then do it. @@seansoutdoors
