I don't need a sodbuster. If I did I'd be all over this. It locks and available in carbon and a pocket clip to boot. It's thinness lends itself to pocket carry. Uncomfortable for carving totem poles but great for breaking down cardboard , opening feed bags. and cutting twine. EDC, Every Day Chores!

Also I wanted to say is if you got the model C138L it is 1095 carbon steel. If you got the normal 138L model then it is 440 stainless. The C in the part number indicates Carbon steel.

Enjoy your knife, brother. Mine rides in my shirt pocket next to an ink pen. I love the small pocket clip, It doesn’t impede my usage, the pocket clip ensures that I have the knife with me every day every where I go. Thanks for sharing your videos.

For a pocket knife used intermittently, I wouldn't think it would be too irritating in my jeans pocket. Handsome thing. Write a letter to the company. You'd be surprised how influential a letter can be. Tell them you like their knife but it needs a thicker handle. Who knows what they'll think. Or do.

Happy New Year George! It looks like a nice knife. It would be nice if it had liners like older folders. I think that would make it feel better in the hand or maybe if they had made the handles thicker and with some sort of texturing. Enjoyable video as always! Take care!

👍 Nice review. I just ordered one based upon this review. I agree a Bear & Son knife for $26.00 is almost a must have. I do like the sod buster style knife.

@@2ndchancegeorge Thank you. Same to you & your family. I’m hopeful that this may be an improved version of the style, I like the idea of anodized aluminum frame. While it looks a little thin it is a pocket knife and will be used for short individual tasks and not a tool one would use continuously for hours. I ordered the yellow version. I plan to lose the pocket clip in the first 3 seconds I have it. For me these clips add to the discomfort and serve no real purpose. In my 66 years of owning folding knives I have never had a problem getting one out of my pocket.

I respect your opinion on the knife handle being too thin for your hand, George. But, for a guy that mostly carries an Otter Mercator and a Böker Atlas as a second EDC, I would say that this is my kind of knife. I would live to get my hands on one. Take care.

I hear what you saying my friend. It's a sodbuster and I like them. Just a little to thin for my fat grubbies...lol. I love the black cat. Awesome knife. Be safe out there. Where are you located?

The first bear and son I knife ever owned was a small hunting knife about 10 inches long with a straight brass Tang built like a tank I bought it from a guy that sold CB radios and other stuff at truckstops. I paid like $15 for it nice leather sheath and all , was in the early 90s. I wished I had kept it.

I got one from Chicago knives works for 12.50 and it's a total steal for that price. I wish it was a slip joint and not a liner lock but on the other hand I don't mind the lock. The faded denim polished micarta looks excellent and if you give it a quick sanding with 60 grit until you feel some fabric starting to expose and then a light buffing with 120g you are left with nice grippy soft micarta. I wish they would release it with their carbon steel blade to so we have the optjon. Again it's a complete BARRGOOON at 12.50 for a well built 8.5 inch overall work knife.
