This guy was underestimating this huge bear. Firstly a bear can run up to 40 miles per hour or about 70 kilometers per hour. if the bear suddenly charged, firstly the guy would have been startled and in "panic mode" and not reacted properly or quickly enough. If that engine didn't start after the first kick -- no chance the guy escapes. He also would have lost 1 or 2 seconds getting the bike turned around. Very very risky. If he had the motor running, and the bike turned around he likely would have had lots of time to get away.

When it winks at you. All jokes aside, they say, when a Bear, looks at you, once or twice, not alarming..but if it looks at you a third or 4th time, it's really interested...that is not a good thing. 🤷 I feel, if a 🐻 looks at you that many times, it's sizing you up...but, what do I know?

You were less than 2 seconds from being torn apart at any time during this video. Nice filming though. You're lucky the bear was still full and just guarding his latest kill. (probably the previous biker that tried driving by!)

Bears are not that aggressive, and this one was just curious and had no intention to attack.

No JW he was in no real danger here. The comment you made quickly portrays the bear as seconds away from a murderous rampage. The bear deserves better than that. If he was guarding a kill,(and Mirko stumbled in to the bear this way) in all probability Mirko would have been in serious trouble...or dead. 2 things that Grizzly/Brown Bears will never tolerate and defend to the absolute death are any person or other animal caught in between her and her cubs . The other is a fresh kill or buried kill that they guard for several days until consumed.Mirko is very lucky to see this bear in a wild and peaceful setting and a beautiful viewing he will never forget

Not uncommon for wild bears to be tagged. There’s some kind of system they use for black bears in the Cumberland Gap park that lets them know how aggressive they are.

@@bassin692 The guy is unaware maybe? What pisses me off is if he killed the guy they would most likely kill the Bear for just being a Bear. Its the Walt Disnification of Bears. People don't realize how deadly and unpredictable they are.I have some experience with Bears and as you obviously know even if you are armed at that distance in a panic you most likely are going to miss if you not experienced and competent with the Firearm. I stopped hunting because nowadays its just too dangerous with the weekend warriors. Most of them are in more danger from each other than the Bears. The speed and power are literally breathtaking. I saw one tear the door of my shed and break a four by four chunk of hardwood like a tooth pick. They are so incredibly strong. Minimum 100 yds for this guy if I have a say in the matter. LOL. Bless.
