Haha I know right! It was actually like a really weird feeling, like I had just caught the biggest fish of my life, and seriously like 10-15 minutes later I caught that red and it just didn’t feel like it usually does with a bull red haha.

So cool. You’re quickly gaining on 20k I see! Biggest I ever get caught was a tiger shark. We tried hooking him up to the crane to pull him up but we weren’t prepared like GCN. Great video!!

Dude that was awesome! I have never caught a shark, but we did get a Goliath grouper that our captain said was the biggest he had seen. He estimated it to be between 500 and 600 lbs. It was fun to catch, but it was alot of work, wore my ass out.

I used to shark fish South Padre Texas using four wheel drive all the way down to the Port Mansfield cut. I have hooked sharks that I would have sworn the other end of the line was connected to a truck. I never caught a 600 pounder but these big sharks are no joke from the beach in the Gulf of Mexico. The most eye opening piece was the initial hit. There is nothing uncertain about a shark hitting your rig.

I have done standup fishing with an old school 12/0 Penn reel on a heavy rod on a boat offshore my largest shark weighed just over 300lbs was a tiger shark I did catch a 475lb bluefin tuna standup fishing as well same rod and 12/0 reel. I did have people standing next to me just encase they were needed it is fun they will ware you out that was a workout of the year I would say, 10' 2" dusky nice catch from the beach. I thought you was finished then you turn around and catch a nice bull red gotta love it tight lines🎣🦈🎣
