Having conquered Britain's biggest mixed grill some years ago in the north east, I thought it unthinkable that anything bigger would come along. How wrong I was. In early May, The Black Market Venue in Mansfield launched their own giant mixed grill challenge. Up until now, a handful of brave souls have tried, but none have come close. So after last week's surprise defeat, I wanted to get back on my horse and reclaim some honour!
The meal costs £30 and contains sausages, bacon, black pudding, rump steak, pork loin, lamb chop, grilled chicken breast, liver, gammon, eggs, a half pound burger, giant onion rings, tomatoes, red onions, lettuce, radish, cucumber, carrots, mushrooms, pineapple, peas, coleslaw, a mountain of chips and one giant pork rind. Eat it in one sitting with no bathroom breaks, no sharing and no substitutions, and it might not be free; but you do get a free dessert, a pint of your choice of beverage, a spot on the wall of fame and a sweet winner's t-shirt!

Q: How come you don’t get fat?
A: I eat like this for 1 hour of a 168 hour long week. In simple terms, I eat at caloric maintenance over the course of time, meaning I don’t gain weight. If you're interested in learning more, see the ‘But How Come You're Not Fat' and 'It Was Just A Normal Day...' videos.
Q: Don’t you worry about your health?
A: Not in particular. I’m active. I eat nutrient dense foods five days a week. And, I get quarterly bloods done, amongst other health checks.
