Today we're taking a trip to The Smokehouse in Grimsby, to take on their PITMASTER CHALLENGE! Baby Back Ribs, Wide Boy Ribs, Jacobs Ladder Ribs, Pulled Pork, Roast Chicken, Brisket, Burnt Ends, Sticky Chicken, Hot Links, Fries, Onion Rings, Slaw, Texas Toast, Meaty Pit Beans some dreaded CORN ON THE COB!
All of it has to be finished in one sitting, and it has only been defeated once by a very dedicated lady who took 3 HOURS to finish!

Just come across this video Beard , it's my friends pub and i live down the same street about 100 yards away . It's now back to it's original name " The White Hart " and is the oldest pub in Grimsby . During the 70's and 80's and probably up until the mid 90's it was very popular with the bikers and rock scene , always busy with great bands on at the weekends .

Its beef. Likely the front or rear rib, likely the front. It was thick & tough meat.

The big rib is a beef short rib aka jacob's ladder. The chewy bit was the membrane. Pork ribs have it too but most places take it off. It's often left on on short ribs as the meat is all on the other side of the bone.

Sup dude I live in Grimsby not from here but been here a while love this what I know Grimsby has got a fishing heritage in the past a massive one but yea carnt say much after that but food is getting better not much as in competitive eating but places to eat but hope they will do or you make your own here many places to eat and all kinds of food would love to see more from a place you don't think of much as I did at first but now it's a place I won't leave peace

Texas toast just means it's thicker than an average slice of toast and pulled pork is usually sweet just like you were saying, the fat is pork belly and the huge rib was a beef rib. Love the channel

Hey Adam, I know you said that you wasted so much time taking the meat off the bone and what not. So I just was just thinking what if at the very beginning of the challenge you take a minute or two to just strip the meat off the bones and then start eating. Just a thought that it may help shave some time off if you don’t have to worry about choking on a bone shard that you don’t see until it’s too late ya know. Just a thought. Adam. I realize it’s been 5 years since you posted this video, and I can only hope that someone told you that the huge bone with the meat with the “skin” on it was a beef rib that had been smoked. The length of time it takes to smoke the ribs causes the meat to toughen up like it did. Completely different than pork ribs. Really enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for all of the work you put into them.

That was a really good bbq plate. I hadda look up what Jacob's Ladder ribs were, but turns out that's what they called beef short ribs (hence how big the bone was). They're not as common here as baby back ribs or spare ribs (both pork ribs), unless you're from the South and live near a cattle ranch, so most people wouldn't think of those first when thinking ribs, at least in my area...so don't sweat not being a fan of those Fred Flinstone things. Those burnt ends are from smoking brisket overnight, required to make it more palatable. You just end up with the ends being more dried out and they used to be discarded, until Arthur Bryant's in Kansas City started dousing them with sauce and serving them on Wonder bread. The rest is history.

Awww, we didn't criticize your corn eating I thought it was unique Ive never seen it done like that is all. Lol. Eat it how it makes you feel happy who cares it is just corn. We all have our habits I mean hey I drink pickle juice who does that? Or If i eat a slice of pizza i don't want the bread just topping. And i suck popcorn before i chew each one lol ... no biggy.. Great job though that looked yummy but very chewy. I can't believe someone sat there and ate for 3 hours smh i would've fallen asleep by then. Well off to get dinner me and my honey are gonna have chili but i don't like corn bread so chili with i don't know yet lol because its FREAKIN COLD!! Today in North Carolina.

Texas toast is different in texas. It is garlic bread but it's a much thicker cut piece of bread. Kind of like french toast but thicker. It also comes with shredded cheese melted on top

Im surprised that they didn't have corn bread and sweet tea ! And yes pulled pork usually has a less sweet BBQ sauce on it more vinegar like and spice ! You are right!
