Stray kids are a self-produced kpop group meaning they make their own lyrics and beats, the main 3 that produce are a unit called 3racha which is composed of 3 members from stray kids. Stray kids are pretty much 100% involved in their songs like there isn't a stray kids song that doesn't involve at least one member. Stray kids have no set roles all rap and all sing but mainly like 4 of them rap and 4 of them sing. The rappers can sing and the singers can rap there isn't any restrictions on it it just depends on who or what fits the concept and what the members want to do

The blue hair dude Bangchan (the leader and main beat creator), the fastest rapper in K-pop (green highlights guy) Changbin and Han (poofy white hat peep) are 3racha and they have produced/wrote over 95% of their over 150+ discography by themselves. The other members help write songs on occasion as well.

Since you talked about camera work i’d like to recommend their ‘Stray Kids Kingdom God’s Du Du’ live performance. It’s really good and you’ll be surprised how good it is. Also it was all one-take so they had only 1 chance to make this stage perfect. (Kingdom is a tv show where kpop groups do insane stages with crazy camerawork)

Pro tip : most kpop music videos come with English subtitles ^^ Also "kpop" isn't really a genre, more of an industry. The common ground of kpop groups is that they went through the trainee system - agencies scout young talent, trains them, and debut them when they're deemed ready (which can take a long time, depending on how young they started to train). Stray Kids are a pretty unusual group for kpop in the sense that their leader, Bang Chan (blue hair in the music video), is the one who picked the guys he wanted in his group (among the agency's trainees), rather than the company putting the group together like is usually the case. The premise of their pre-debut show "Stray Kids" was pretty much that he was trying to get company approval for his chosen lineup.

Thank you for your reactions and for you having an open mind to listen to kpop. Here is a little bit more about stray kids. Fandom name is Stay. What sits stray kids apart from most of kpop is yes they were in a reality survival elimination show but it was after they were already picked their members. Most kpop groups are put in a survival elimination show then they eliminate them until they have the final numbers of members the company wants to have. With Stray Kids the leader BangChan (blue hair) hand picked his members before they were on a survival show to prove they had what it takes to ne a stray kids member. BangChan also created the name stray kıds and their logo. No other kpop entertainment company has ever let the members have that much control before. Also 3 members are in a sub rap unit called 3Racha who not only have their own rap songs they also the producing team for stray kids. They writ their own lyrics, compose, arrange and produce their own music 99.9% without help some times with help. BangChan is from Australia and he makes all the beats for them. He also trained for 7 years starting at the age of 13 years old. Stray kids has 8 members that are rappers, vocalist and dancers they don't all. Felix is has one of the deepest voices in kpop and was born in Australia. He moved to Korea at 17yrs old with little knowledge of how to speak Korean. They have 3 rappers that were in the top 10 fastest rappers in kpop. 3Racha members are BangChan, Han (white hat), Changbin (green sweater and green highlights in hair). Love for you to react to more stray kids older and newer songs. Here are a few. Gods Menu mv, Double Knot (English version) mv, Venom mv, Freeze mv, Thunderous mv and Lonely St mv.

Thanks for checking these guys out. I’m an American and graduated 89 so I love old school hard rock. Going to see Iron Maiden this August. With that said I love music and Stray Kids really hit a spot for me. I don’t like all Kpop but I do like a few groups. Stray Kids music is really different and has been considered noisy music because their beats are so hard and their music can be aggressive. I like that every song sounds different and can be hard but At the same time they can do rock inspired soft ballads (off the new album)called Lonley Street is an example. If you listen to Venom off the new album, you will see that this song is rap heavy and not as poppy as this Maniac. Freeze is my favorite and is actually has a cool dub step mix. What draws people to BTS and Stray Kids are the lyrics along with the music. They are deep and meaningful. For me, Kpop has filled the void that American music has been lacking. I’m tired of the sex and drug concepts and mediocre entertainment. Hope you continue your journey. Kpop has some really interesting music and the newer groups coming out are fire.

Well said! I'm a 57 yr old Black woman and I made the mistake of falling down the Stray Kids rabbit hole when I saw God's Menu. Like whaaaa 😳 and I haven't looked back. I sometimes feel like a proud grandma watching her babies lol. I also have watched a lot of their vlogs, etc and they are really sweet young men. I had no idea that Han (white hat) suffers badly with anxiety and being around a lot of ppl (new) can be triggering for him. There are a few videos where you see it happening, like during a press interview. The group members and staff are always around to help him cope if they see it going from bad to really bad. In his vlogs he is shy, nervous, soft spoken and prefers not going out in public. But you see him in front of the camera when he has to be "on" and it's a completely different person!

Thank you for your reaction and your openness. - Something to know is that SKZ uses the title tracks to get attention, appeal to as wide of an audience as possible, and bring new people in to hear more. And then they put the even better tracks on the b-sides so you'll find them once the title tracks have done their job and pulled you in. I love all the title tracks, but of probably 80% of the albums in their extensive discography, I find b-sides to be even better than the titles. And SKZ themselves will frequently name non-titles as their favorites. So if you find a title track like Maniac sufficiently interesting to keep delving into SKZ, you might well like a lot of their other stuff even better. - While most members do have one or two areas of primary focus, literally all eight can and do both rap and sing (and dance). They have both all-vocal and all-rap songs, and every member is genuinely good at both sides. Yes, they have the ace that everybody knows (Han), and honestly at least three more could reasonably bear that title if they were interested and not already overshadowed with expectation, but all eight members are solid all-rounders. - I'm sure others have already clarified that kpop is an industry rather than a genre, and as such, groups within kpop incorporate various genres/styles in their music. However, it's also true that there's a mainstream-approved overall sound and way of doing things, and anyone who falls outside of that expectation has a lot of challenges that aren't present for groups who follow the middle of the road. SKZ has a diehard fanbase within Korea, but outside of those fans, they're _really_ not popular with or often even known by the public. Their music is too experimental, often too loud, too "not Korean," so their popularity and recognition are heavily skewed toward international audiences. Their sound tends to differ too much from the classic concept of kpop that mainstream Korean audiences prefer, so in that sense, they don't "sound like kpop." SKZ are referred to -- even by a Korean media that has little interest in them -- as being pioneers of a "flavor" of music previously not considered of note in the kpop flavor concepts of "sweet" (the bubblegum stuff) and "salty" (the sexy stuff). So you'll hear "mala" ("spicy" in reductive terms) or "mala taste genre" in relation to SKZ at some point. - Don't assume or anticipate any particular sound from SKZ. Most new people do, and then they either get confused or disappointed. SKZ has everything from melancholic slow raps to contemporary ballads to psytrance to pure rock to a million types of EDM to dubstep to experimental rap to r&b and beyond, and they like to play with and mix genres, sometimes in a purposefully jarring manner. One of them even specifically clarified recently that he doesn't want them to ever have a signature sound, as that would tie them down and limit their freedom to experiment and make whatever music they want. The nice thing is that this means you're virtually guaranteed to find songs you like in their catalogue, simply because it's so diverse. - Always check subtitles. Barring Japanese releases, most videos -- certainly for SKZ, anyway -- will have subtitles. And they're known for their lyrics nearly always being deep and meaningful and/or clever and full of wordplay. - The majority of kpop songs tend to incorporate a bit of English to make things catchy and to help with rhyming (the structure of Korean language means there's a somewhat limited number of sounds that end sentences, so throwing in English can add some variety). In SKZ's case, since two out of eight of them are Australians who are native English speakers and another three are fluent or near-fluent, their English content is higher than in a lot of other groups. There are other native English speakers in kpop (a surprising number to many people), but SKZ is pretty much the only group with a native English-speaking Australian leader who's writing the music along with two wordplay nerds, one of whom is near-fluent. - As filmmakers, you might enjoy some of SKZ's "behind films" -- the behind-the-scenes content they release about their music videos. As musicians, you might appreciate their intros -- a behind-the-scenes look at the production, concepts, backgrounds, etc for each album. Being as the members are literally the ones writing/producing the music, they can give firsthand insight into it, right down to how they tweaked the sound of power tools to make an effect. As a music nerd and a performer, I enjoy both of these sets of content. - The partnership with Clio ended in 2021. SKZ are currently partnered with cosmetic/skincare company Nacific, as well as the fashion house Etro and clothing brands Mahagrid and BENCH. - 3RACHA is a rap trio that predates SKZ, has their own music from that time, and still makes an occasional new piece (usually to perform for awards shows in conjunction with a SKZ performance). But they're the producing unit within SKZ. They've just recently started taking on collabs with other artists and producing for other artists. But as the engine within SKZ, they're not so much "a second band" as "the rap trio who are the main producers of the group and like to entertain themselves with the occasional return to their rap trio roots with a one-off performance." Barring one song (which isn't out yet), their producing so far is for SKZ's songs and the independent songs SKZ members release. They're the three most prolific idol producers in history, the three youngest to surpass 100 credits, in the top 20 idol producers ever, and the top three 4th-gen producers. Eventually, yeah, they're bound to take over the industry on the production end of things. But for now, their efforts virtually all go into SKZ. Again, thank you for your thoughtful reaction. I look forward to more.

You will enjoy reacting to this group because they are a self produced group. 99% of their discography is them being engage with music production from beats, lyrics, and arrangements. And fun fact, this is so RARE for a kpop group to be self produced. They have 3 members who are producing unit. The rest of the members are producers as well, but the 3racha (producing unit) are most likely the one making songs :)

i was the same way before i got into kpop/found stray kids, my mind was blank on the topic but when i first listened to “god’s menu” by them ... speechless. that song singlehandedly got me into kpop. i was automatically hooked, their whole discography is amazing and it’s even more amazing the fact that they write their own music, they’re involved in the making process of every single song in their albums! and yes 3racha are the producer line of stray kids, they are 3 members of the group, 2 of the eldest (one being the leader of stray kids) and one of the younger members. they were making music and posting it on soundcloud before stray kids was formed! another fun fact, the owner of their company gave bang chan (the leader) the opportunity to handpick his members to debut with him, which is not a common thing in kpop, usually the members are picked and put into a group by the company. chan’s also australian (along with another member, felix) and chan also designed the stray kids logo himself! there’s so much more but thanks for the reaction guys and i hope to see you reacting to more of them!

You're doing great, so don't worry. Some of Stray Kids songs talk about go on your own pace, take your time to do it right , it doesn't matter if you make mistakes because you're trying hard and that's the important part. 'Going ahead of you doesn't mean they'll end up in the first place'. Also, most of kpop groups are formed by the companies putting together their best trainees, giving them a concept, a name and the songs they'll have to sing. Stray Kids, instead, was formed by the same members. First was 3Racha (Leader Bang Chan, Changbin and Han) who are a rap trio, doing music outside of the company and uploading their own songs to Soundcloud. Then Bang Chan, who'd been a trainee for already 7 years in the company, started recruiting other trainees who'd been there with him for a while and, at the end, Bang Chan presented the group to the company and JYP took the risk to debut this unpolished kids, after a reality where they had to proof they could do it altogether and not just a few who were 'ready for it' (though it gets clear at the end that they would had let them anyway), giving them complete freedom over their music, that's why 99% of their songs are self-composed and self-produced, and that's the reason why they didn't do well at the beginning, because they were too noisy and didn't sound like other kpop groups, mostly because isn't just bubblegum, you have to go back and listen to it a few times to catch every detail they put in each track (and sometimes you need a wide range of hz to get them all). So... yeah. Give this kids a chance and I can assure you won't regret it.

Thank you so much for reacting to Stray Kids! They're an awesome group. I got into them last August for the Noeasy Album and now I'm an offical fan / Stay. They don't have any set genre - they do it all. 3Racha is the main producing unit of the band but all members write lyrics and are engaged; several songs were written outside of 3Racha as well. I think out of all their songs there is only one song that was handed to them by the company... and they decided whether or not to do it. They have a lot of freedome because they're so good. Every other song was created by the Stray Kids members. As said before no member has a single role - rappers sing and singers rap. They decide who does what as it suits the song! They're super talented 😀 Song suggestions: 1. GOD'S MENU 2. BACK DOOR 3. EASY 4. DOMINO 5. SLUMP (OST Anime Tower of God) - One Take live performance 6. Kingdom - God's Du Du Du 7. HELLEVATOR (pre-debut song) Anyway you can't really go wrong... Hope you keep reacting to SKZ and I'll subscribe to your channel!

Stray Kids having a connection to a cosmetics brand is not unusual in kpop when it comes to male groups OR female groups - you'll find many groups will have commercial deals with beauty, fashion and cosmetics companies. Makes sense, since everyone in Stray Kids is STUNNING.

thanks for your reaction! And it is nice to see that you did some research beforehand - thank you for your interest! I hope to see more Stray Kids reaction! They create their songs themselves (with some help from outside here and there) and they love experimenting, so be prepared to hear different styles from them, if you go into b-sides (b-side - is a song in an album which is not a title track). Stray Kids have one of the best rap lines in k-pop (the best one in my personal opinion). Since you love rap, I recommend you songs "easy" (has MV), "the tortoise and the hare" (watch lyrics video, because there is no MV), "maze of memories" (watch lyrics video), "double knot" (has MV), "muddy water" (lyrics video, there are just 4 members here, it is from the same album as "maniac"). Must-see are previous title tracks from 2020-2021 "god's menu", "back door" and "thunderous". You should also check out "venom" and "freeze" from the same album as "maniac". All these songs have MVs. Btw all the MVs always have subtitles. Someone recommended their live performance at the "kingdom legendary war" show with a song "god's ddu ddu ddu" - I join that recommendation. For your information, this is their cover of a song called "ddu ddu ddu" from a k-pop girl group Blackpink, which they slightly mashed with their "god's menu". So maybe it would make sense to watch "ddu ddu ddu" and "god's menu" before watching "god's ddu ddu ddu". P.S. BTS has one of the best rap lines in k-pop as well, which especially shines in their older songs (in my opinion). Classic is "mic drop" which I recommend. Aoki remix of that song has an MV and a big portion of the lyrics is in English (the original is mostly in Korean) - so you can just watch that one.

I’m really liking you guys a lot. Thank you for giving stray kids a chance. If you guys like video graphic type videos I would recommend a song called gambler by monsta x. Also the song thunderous by stray kids. You may like these videos. Stray kids is actually really good with the videos they put out. Also I would also recommend you can put on the captions to get a better understanding of what they are saying. I do understand it can be hard to focus on the video and reading the lyrics at the same time. With us who are used to kpop we are used to be able to focus on both. But the more you get into it it does get a lot easier to be able to read the captions and focus on the video but it does get some used to :) I am subscribing to you guys. I hope you do get more into this a little more. The Korean videos are a lot different than what we are used to here in the states. And also stray kids actually reached number one on the billboard 200 with this song (if I’m wrong others can correct me) 3racha yes is the guys who are the producers :) thank you again for this.

I'm really glad you're checking out kpop and Stray Kids specifically. I used to be under the misconception that kpop was just very well produced pop music. I sort of respected it from a distance that everyone involved seemed to be very good at what they do but as a much more indie/rock/metal kind of person I thought it was just very mainstream pop. Then I came across Stray Kids. I love this group, and they properly taught me about kpop and the range, the professionalism, the culture and the skill. Something I find very interesting about kpop is that most artists join a company/label as a 'trainee', and they basically live in dorms and study and train in their disciplines, with the hope of eventually 'debuting'- aka forming a group and releasing music professionally. And even once they debut groups often live together in dorms for a while, and there still remains this sort of student-like approach. For example with Stray Kids, every member seems to be constantly working to improve their skills or develop new ones. Stray Kids are more uncommon in the kpop industry in being completely self-produced and very versatile in their individual roles and the genres they make music in. As a bit of background, 3racha- the producing team- formed when they were still trainees (so before Stray Kids existed), they studied and worked together whilst they were basically still all at school. Bang Chan, the leader of the group (the guy at the beginning with blue hair in this video), makes pretty much all of their tracks, and together with the other two (Changbin and Han) they write, record, edit, arrange etc.. All three currently hold the top three spots for most copyright song credits in their generation pretty much around 100 each, and Han I think is the youngest producer to be so credited at 21. On their youtube channel they have a lot of behind the scenes videos where you get to see their process and it's really cool. But when the band was formed, the label essentially had picked Bang Chan to be the leader and asked him to pick his own members (again pretty unusual in kpop). The survival show they did was essentially the band having to prove that they were the right fit, marketable, essentially that they should get the record deal and debut. They wrote and performed songs during the process and about a year later officially debuted. As a group they pretty much explore any genre. Their most recent album- ODDINARY, is essentially different influences for every track and they have dubstep, acoustic ballad, classic hiphop- they really try anything and they like to challenge themselves too. They also do these things called 'unit tracks' where a few of the members will get together in different combinations to try new styles or stretch their skills. It was one of these tracks- Red Lights, that actually got me into the group (I highly recommend checking that one out sometime). Stray Kids songs actually have a lot of English verses in them because Bang Chan (leader) and Felix (the blonde guy who starts the first chorus) are actually Australian. Bang Chan was raised bilingual and moved to Korea to train at about 13 but English is Felix's native language and he started learning Korean from scratch when he moved to Korea essentially to try and join Stray Kids at about 16. A few of the other members have also either lived abroad or studied English- and of course are more used to speaking it casually with Felix and Bang Chan, so their English songs and raps tend to be of a similar complexity and standard to their Korean ones. They have also written some songs in Japanese which Bang Chan speaks relatively well I think. Oh- and most of their music videos have English subtitles available to turn on as well. For me I would suggest looking at a few of their most well known songs and their newer ones (Venom, Thunderous, God's Menu, Backdoor), but I think it could be really useful for you to check out some of their Kingdom performances. Kingdom is a tv competition essentially, it took five successful kpop acts spanning like the last 10 years and had them compete in rounds that specialised in a variety of things and were judged by experts, peers, and public vote. As part of it they arranged new tracks, designed performances, they covered classics etc etc, so you really get to see their creative skill at work. The three performances that I think might be of the most use to you are Miroh (ep 1, each group had to perform 100 seconds of one of their tracks to essentially introduce themselves to the other groups so it's a good snapshot introduction); God's Dududu (this is probably the most recommended and went pretty viral, they mashed up one of their songs with Black Pink's song and a Deadpool theme and it actually led to them becoming friends with Ryan Reynolds- it shows their scale of stage performance very well though); and I'll Be Your Man (this is actually a cover of a difficult vocal ballad by and older group BTOB and shows a different side to Stray Kids, but conceptually it blows me away. They essentially transformed a love song into a song about grief and bargaining and it shows their storytelling ability really well). I hope you continue to explore and enjoy Stray Kids and Kpop in general. There is so much to discover once you get started. 😄

The best thing about Stray Kids is that they have no set genre and every song is different. I think they cover 30+ genres in their discography including EDM, dubstep, electronica, rap, and even jazz is featured in their newer one called "Muddy Waters" which to me reminds me of New Orleans jazz meets 90s hip-hop. As others have said, all 8 can rap and do, and all 8 can sing. Their most notable rappers, Chanbin and Han, have beautiful singing voices. Han raps and sings in this Maniac MV. They also write, compose, and arrange their own music most of the time, and they choreograph their performances too.

I HIGHLY recommend God's Menu by Stray Kids! Stray kids are one of the best kpop groups. They write and produce ALL of their own music. God's menu has some pretty crazy camera work and it's pretty rap heavy. Victory song is great to! Venom is great. District 9 has more of a rock feel (its one of my favorites). Just a few recommendations but all of their stuff is amazing!

Stray Kids are great! One of my fav songs has to be God's Menu tho. Please react to BTS Black Swan!! Dont forget to turn on captions! Also gotta say that kpop has some really good rappers, and stray kids is one of the groups that have great rappers, so im glad they were able to catch your eyes! You might have not noticed on bts butter performance you watched but bts' rap line is one of the strongest and most brilliant in the kpop industry as well! It's hard to notice it on their english songs bc most aren't fluent on the language, but hopefully once you start listening more to their korean songs you'll see, and later on you can react to the rappers songs like "Ugh", "Tear" and their Chypers, if that's what catches your interest! I'm not a huge fan of stray kids so i cannot say for sure, but i think they might also have songs of their rap line as well.

I definitely recommend The Tortoise and the Hare from Stray Kids. There was a reaction done by a group of musical theory students on this song. They discussed the use of timing in the music as well of the rapping and how it follows the fable itself. The music speeds up, slows down, goes in slow motion and the rapping follows it and is done in contrast to the music. The whole song plays with the concept of time and rushing through life. The lyrics are amazing as well. 3 Racha, the rap/producers line of Stray Kids is incredible.
