@@kenhew4641They are pretty common tricks anyone can do. It didn't actually matter where they said the cards should be placed. One way it could be done is by having a set of 5 cards already laid out with the matching symbols on one side and plain black on the back so you can't see them (that's why he needed a black mat on the table). He places their choice on top of these cards and keeps the two cards together when flipping them so only the fronts of the black-backed cards are shown at the end. For the writing on board/paper, he just needs to write it very discretely (eg. thumb marker) or have someone else write it. He could use slight of hand to swap the papers without them noticing, or since it's not in person, he could have his video feed manipulated to pause the right side of the screen so another person could place it in the cup without it showing in the live video or recording. There are many explanations, but in this performance, it is definitely just an illusion.
