Bears Reunite After 20 Years in Captivity | Animals Asia

Moon bears Buzz and Armstrong spent 20 years, since they were cubs, living next to each other in tiny, dark cages on a bile farm in Vietnam.
Animals Asia rescued them two months ago and, after our bear care teams worked with them individually to build up their mental and physical strength, they were ready to meet!
Sit back, relax and enjoy this beautiful moment as two old friends finally get to hug each other after 20 long years.

This made my whole Christmas honest-to-God. In the USI am just so happy to see them enjoying. Touching each other and bonding like animals of their own kind should They have been deprived for so many years of being of having animal touch that they so desperately need. Oh, this video is just marvelous. I'm just loving it. I'm watching it over and over and over again. Everything that you send. Thank you for letting us be a part of watching these beautiful creatures, bond and finally be. Able to act like bears and not be so mistreated. I think about the amount of years they spent in a cage. I just can't imagine.

The very first few moments of them together, it was almost as if they were saying to each other, "we made it, and we're safe now." Maybe they'll even have a few cubs to celebrate freedom ❤

They don’t breed them at AA, as that would mean that the cubs would have to live out their long lives in captivity.

Can you imagine… All you have had for comfort in your entire lives in your misery and suffering is each other, but you were never able to touch or feel joy in each other. Just sharing your fear and pain so at least you weren’t suffering alone. And then one day… 💚I’m sobbing.
