It's not an every day thing to see a black bear just chilling by the side of the road in most countries, but in Canada it certainly is! Join me for an epic day of adventures on the west coast of British Columbia as we tour some beautiful waterfalls, have lunch in Whistler Village and get as close and personal (as you should be getting) with some cute bears.
Thank you very much to Be Wild Adventures for giving me this tour for free, I would highly (genuinely) recommend their tours for some epic hikes all over British Columbia: www.bewildadventures.com/
The tour I did was Waterfalls and Whistler Summer Tour

I use both of these companies depending on the destination and requirements of entry. If you are going to be abroad for a long time and/or don't need as much coverage, I would recommend SafetyWing. BUT you cannot purchase SafetyWing WHILE in Canada or USA. You can only purchase once already abroad. Hey Mondo is more expensive but offers a higher level of coverage including plans that have trip cancellation/interruption insurance. Hey Mondo would be the better insurance to use if you need travel medical insurance when applying for a visa. Both companies cover covid. I know that if you have not gone to the wilderness in Canada then you missed a very important part. Like you said, the big cities are great to visit, but you have to explore the wilderness to get the real feel of the country. I have been to these kinds of areas on the east side of the country a few times because it was close for me for even a weekend get-away as I lived in Michigan and even after I moved to Florida, it seems it was always a weekend trip a couple times a year. I think the memories of adventures there will always be fresh for me, and even though I do not live in America anymore, the memories will always be remembered. Now, I speak for everyone here, Alina. Thank you so much for sharing British Columbia with us, you always create precious memories for us and we save every one of them. Be safe always, and keep that wonderful smile, Alona and I just adore what you share and we will never be able to repay you for that. Have a great time during your time in your country that formed one of the greatest people we know. What's next is really anticipated, so keep us in the loop on what's coming. Cheers!!! 💖😊👍

The landscape and the vegetation there are beautiful, Alina, and it also seems to be very peaceful. It’s amazing to think how diverse the American continent is, with all kinds os weather, forests and so on.
@davidmarshall718
@davidmarshall718 2 жыл бұрын
There are TWO "American" continents, South and North, plus the Central land-bridge. These are geographic terms, named after the 1500's Italian sea-captain Amerigo Vespucci. Referring to any of them as simply "American" implies they are politically, socially, economically and militarily USA-centric, which non-citizens of the USA generally find offensive, certainly in Canada.

Awesome! That is pretty country. Here where I live, bear sightings make the newspaper! They wander down from Appalachia sometimes. I think those salmon live in the Pacific but spawn in rivers and streams, and that attracts the big aggressive bears to eat the salmon... You know, that bear spray is effective to stop bear attacks and doesn't hurt them permanently. 👍😊

Have never spent any time on the west coast or been to Whistler so a part of the country that I'm familiar with in a general sense only. Been though much of interior BC. Spent six years living and working in a provincial park, so it was part of life especially in the spring and fall to check if there were black and brown bears around when coming or going to your house. I've been very up close and personal with many bears, but I made a point to not bother or surprise them, and we had a live and let live unspoken agreement. Having lived and worked in the rural area's from Northern Ontario to Central BC encountering Canada's wild life has just a part of daily life. I sometimes forget that my lifestyle and where I lived brought me into the home ranges of many wild animals, so that encountering them while not a daily event was common. Most Canadian's don't encounter these animals on a semi regular bases. Interesting to see you reacting to semi wild parts of West Coast as both a tourist and an expat. Nice tour this was, of an area that I've never been boots on the ground in personally.

Whistler, BC is breathtaking. You get to explore the beauty of the Alpine forest deep in the mountains. Giant cedar, hemlock and pine trees covered with lichens and mosses surround you every step of the way. The wildlife and waterfalls throughout the area are world-class as well. Awesome video Alina, truly a fantastic place. Reminds me of Aspen, Colorado high up in the Rocky mountains with so many ski resort towns. You also get to enjoy hot springs to soothe your achy muscles after a busy day skiing.

Yes, we are indeed lucky to live in this part of the world! Just returned from Haida Gwaii, you want to see bears and forests? Better not to venture out too far! Now if you can show the audience some real....old school Vancouver it would be much appreciated. Things like: illegal gambling basements, awesome dim sum on Sunday morning in Kirin, and the most Vancouver thing ever.. the rainforest protest on the Lions Gate Bridge, where a guy on Rolls-Royce tossed away the protest sign into the ocean, " get out of my way hippies, I need to get to the Royal Yacht Club and cannot be late". Glad to see you here, enjoy your stay.

Lived in Vancouver my whole life, now a resident of Mexico. Whistler is truly fantastic. Glad you went. It's definitely bear country and they are smart animals! They've learned how to unlock my cousin's side garage door and she often finds them hanging out in their garage! Other bears have stolen portable stoves by dragging them into the woods from campsites while the campers peak out from their tents in total disbelief! Nice video, loved your very fitting music. Distant Call, is such a beautiful song (by Ten Towers), the lyrics, vocal, guitar… pulls at the heartstrings. Thanks for including this song in your video Alina x It’s been my dream to visit British Columbia. As a film nerd the appeal of going to Hope (Rambo: First Blood) and Nelson (Roxanne) has remained palpable in my soul. Sadly, the chance has never presented itself. But now I’ve been on my own for almost 8 years, the excuses are running out, right? Although I am still nervous of traveling so far on my own (I live in Yorkshire, England). I've run into black bears a few times while hiking along the Pitt River in Pitt Meadows, they just ignore me lol, more interested in the blueberries. As long as you don't bother them and remain quiet you are fine. Now back in my days in the airline industry I was based in northern Manitoba and Polar Bears can be dangerous and you do have to be very careful especially mid October to November when they gather along Hudson Bay. Churchill is the best place to get to see them on guided tours if you ever get the chance to get up there. Loved this video. Hope to see more of you around BC.
