This 'Kpop sound' is never coming back again. The sound that the 1st and 2nd gen bands gave us. The golden period. I miss how u cud hear a kpop song back then nd instantly recognize wat made it distinct from any other language pop. Every genre has its golden era...these bands defined that era.

Honestly Yong junhyung's songs (the songs he wrote n composed) were always so good, and I believe he did really contribute so much to that golden era and to the group Beast.

I'm like 100% sure that I am the only American who has pictures of them on my wall...!! Haha! I personally think that Beast is much better than most of the music here in America nowadays. What? During this time (maybe just prior) it was VIP, Cassies, and Shawols at each other's throats, as well as SONEs and Wonderfuls, maybe towards the end of those wars. We just didn't have all the social media to perpetuate fanwars, but they were still very prevalent. Not to mention the supposed rivalry between TEEN TOP and BEAST, that literally wasn't a rivalry but the fandoms always had to say it was. You should really check out some of SNSD's performances closer to their debut, such as the Dream Concert, where Wonderfuls gave them a sea of black (no lights were on) to essentially tell them to go away.

The thing why kpop sucks now is they still stick with the kind of old concept...I used to think I like old kpop maybe bcoz of nostalgic feelings...But I was wrong..it's bcoz kpop these days are highly commercialized...Too much hype for some not so good songs while great songs are not widely known...

@@maxterw1583 I see what you mean, but with that I don't really agree. I think some groups like Stray Kids, Ateez and NCT are very commercialized but still really good. What I think is just that they don't really make these sad songs anymore in the same style, instead they always have to put in some breakdown part or some heavy beats.

I'm also a writer, and stories like this are really heartbreaking. when you tell people that you are happy but that is just fiction that you are trying to make real ... For example, in american pop music they sing about doing adultery, using narcotics, pillaging and murdering, raping.. etc. they DO do this. so many filthy people in hollywood that control this - anyways, I didn't mean to use slurs before. If a foreign song was about rape etc, in this case probably not I know, but if it was, and millions of non-korean speakers liked it, that would be a tragedy, wouldn't you agree
