Beastly CTSV Port Injection Control Module Repair

Жыл бұрынMorgan brings us his CTSV for some adjustment and troubleshooting. As it turns out, his Microsquirt ECU from the port injection kit he is using had a bad injector driver! In this video we go over making the repair and some design decisions that could prevent this issue from happening again in the future.

An addendum to the nerdy bits; it appears that I have mis read the datasheet for the part, and the max voltage allowed before clamping occurs is 80v, and is not infact the breakdown voltage specification. As a matter of fact the breakdown voltage is not listed in the datasheet for the clamping circuit which makes this part more difficult to evaluate. Adding an external diode is still beneficial, especially when done in a manner that allows the diode to share arresting the inductive kickback. This helps dissipate heat that would otherwise end up in the FET which will help the lifespan when being driven hard like it is in this application. Cheers
