Are the chaos ogre able to have heavy armour as before? I've have a couple converted Iron guts I used as MoK Ogers in the before times

Dragon ogres, shaggoths and trolls are not *new* for beastmen. They've simply brought them back from 5th.

So happy to see Dragon Ogres, Chaos Ogres and Trolls return to the Beastmen - a welcome surprise indeed! This army looks to be awesome for all kinds of creepy and gross conversions - while also PLAYING well on the table. Curious to see what cool things people come up with when even adding allies on top. A real converters dream! P.S.: Isn't it funny, how little it took to make Beastmen into an interesting and properly playable faction (compared to 7th)? Good it finally happens, sad it has taken so long.

In 6e Dragon ogres were a beast of chaos unit, and if your general was a Doombull the minotaurs just straight up became core units, which might have been a bit excessive, but I'm glad they're keeping some of the flavour around still. Would have been cool with pestigors etc. But oh well.

Whats neat is that Minotaurs went from unit size 3+ to 2+ Meaning if you buy a box of plastic ones you can just play one of them as a Doombull and still legally field the two left over ones. No expensive character model purchase required.

I assume GW is holding some stuff back on purpose. I fully expect God-Gors to return, but GW can't produce everything at once anyway - so probably part of the Arcane Journal in some form.

Aww man, these look awesome! So happy to see them get some of their roster back that got pruned from them when GW was mad about the amount of overlap between the three chaos factions.

What immediately stuck out to me in the units summary; centigors finally got a character analogue in the Centigor Chieftain, which is the first time we've seen something like that since Chaos Centaur Heroes were a thing back in 3rd edition. Cockatrices return after having been removed in later editions - I think their last appearance was as a generic monster accessible via the Storm of Magic rules in 8e. And I might be wrong, but didn't they remove harpies from the Chaos army during the Beastmen codexes era?

Harpies were in the 7th Edition book, but not the 6th.

Running a Centigor Chieftain with a unit of Centigors is really going to give some real punch to that unit

The roster is the same as in 6th edition with the Beast of Chaos armybook. Just one edition later in 7th they took Chaos Ogres, Chaos Trolls, Dragon Orgres etc out and smooshed them into the Chaos Warriors Army Book.

Correction you get the Quickening if you suffer hits from Storm's Call not Wounds. So if the Dragon Ogre's Pass their saves they won't be hurt, but still get the Quickening.

So what they've done with the roster, with both this and WOC, is go back to sixth edition, minus demons. This makes me VERY happy.

Dragon ogers and spawn were part of beastman for a long time till endtimes. They were taken out because of the big cygors and other monsters.

They were taken out to put them in the Warriors of Chaos book. The Cygor and such were added to Beastmen to "replace" their absence. They didn't even have models for YEARS.

Btw, Dragon Ogres and Shaggith were beastmen in 6th edition. So the warriors stole them to begin with!

What jazzes me up the most is that I can have my goats, trolls, ogres, and I can ally in warriors for that true Undivided feel. It's chaos as it's supposed to be again!

None of the Forgeworld models have rules currently. Presumably/hopefully they come later, perhaps downloadable. Maybe even alongside miniature rereleases.

It would be very cool if they let these rules make the campaign more unique. Like the rare stuff not easy to get and let the army be with more variety of units and more tactical. For my personal preference the armies are a bit little then full stucks and so the strategies are different per type of army used ext.

Do I have the right to change my beastmen minis to be nurgled marked for example even without the rule for mono god marks? I wanted to have a stylized beastmen of nurgle army that I would kitbash with greenstuff to look like the whole army has been mutated by nurgle.

the way you worded "Primal fury: ld tests reroll nat 1", you made it sound as a boon, but if ld tests benefit from low-rolling re-rolling ones, will make you fail more. It is my impression that ld tests you still have to roll under or am I mistaken?

I'm a bit worried about Dwarfs. Cannons are "nerfed", and they have poor movement in a movement heavy game. I want to do melee dwarfs, but am worried it won't be viable.

Quarrelers and handgunners seems dope, general high T and save will generally help the faction a lot due to the low ap of most armies. Dwarfs lords seems to be top contenders with Chaos lords and (probably) Vampires as killiest characters. On paper at least😅

USR on gors, ungors and I think centigors. Beastman Chieftans get a Bray horn that allows ambushes to reroll.

One gor and one ungor units per 1k points are allowed to ambush. Gors and ungors are also allowed to skirmish if you choose to.

They did Beastmen pretty well in AoS so good to see they’re not doing some idiotic thing like revert them back to being garbage just because that’s how they were before in “tHe GoOd OlD dAyS!”

My thoughts exactly. The first AoS 2 BoC book was ok, but got extremely quickly power crept, and suffered from some absurd internal issues. The current book, while having lot of overcosted (points wise) stuff, has actual synergies, buff, debuff and tech pieces that make the army hard to master but very rewarding to play when things work out. Sadly Shaggoth still has the crappy old model and meh rules. But otherwise very glad to see them not reseting to 7th edition shitbook. I still remember how sad I was when all the "cool kids armies" got their hardcover updates with new toys and rules while Beastmen, Skaven and Bretonia were left in the dirt.

It’s one guy with a channel that provides info/chat about he’s interests. He’s not a journalist or paid by GW. Linking him to decisions made by GW to yr obvious view of how the game has been released is pretty low. How about contacting an actual decision maker at GW.
