Hiker lost contact on 1st April 2023 near Ganzhuowan mountain (干卓萬山) in Taiwan.
Missing hiker, Jiang (蔣), age 66, was part of a eleven-member team.
The Ganzhouwan Peak Line (干卓萬群峰線), a typical 5-day, 4-night hike, includes four of Taiwan's famous peaks over 3000 meters (百岳)...

辛苦了，我在失聯第二天有經過，也有順便幫忙空拍搜尋，但我也是在知道墜落位置之後，回頭看照片才知道我當天就有拍到，只是角度是垂直俯視，所以有一大半的身體被樹擋住，而且當時光線很強，衣服的藍色跟石頭的表面都呈現淡藍色，所以沒有在第一時間看出來

感謝台灣有您跑山獸先生，我年輕時候也是登山隊員，也見識了高山氣候變化無窮的威力，即使夏季，也要帶羽毛衣，雨衣、以及巧克力、花生，高熱量食品，精疲力盡時稍加補充，馬上感受到熱量的補充，這是個人自備，也可分享隊友。為了上任何一座百岳，行前訓練是非常重要，所以感謝當時的領隊，如果我們不參加行前兩個月前每週日的背包慢跑，或登山，是不准參加登百岳的活動，這是為了確保大家的安全，快樂的登山，平安的回家，若身體不適，千萬別勉強上山，畢竟青山常在，可以等身體萬全再來造訪。⋯ 高山上可以欣賞美麗的雲海，以及中央山脈峰峰相連的壯闊，高山湖泊像藍寶石般的美麗，這就是登山吸引人的魅力。⋯ 蔣先生不幸在干卓萬山榮歸天國，在此為他祈禱冥福。⋯也感謝跑山獸先生及救難人員你們辛苦了⋯💐

已經有人不舒服了，應該是登山老手了，都會有身體狀況不佳的時候，麻煩無論如何都不應該留下他一人，或者就全體撤退，山還在，人的人命會比想達到目的還重要嗎？自己不舒服了，為了不想拖累全隊卻失去生命，就也是比較好的選擇嗎？不要只想要達到目的，凌駕所有人生命之上，不行就撤退！請領隊將全隊能安全下山看為最重要！

@@user-bf8ht7xk2h 商業登山團可能都不認識吧把狀況設想成你跟團參加三天兩夜的旅行但其中有一個人狀況不好需要大家全部中斷行程，但你自己覺得狀況很好可以走到終點為什麼要大家一起陪他結束ending 回去？而且團費沒退回。是不是會心裡認為對方是拖油瓶，狀況不好還來登山。領隊也必須在太陽下山前到紮營的地方，不然天暗下來很危險大家會一起掛掉。

Looks like an extremely difficult hike for a man of 66 even if he was fit , I know at my similar age you lose the nimbleness of youth , very sorry for the outcome and condolences to his family

Sympathy to Mr Jiang's family and friends, but sincere gratitude to you and the SAR teams involved in locating and recovering him. Taiwan is still a place I would love to visit, just to see the majesty of these mountains, in their raw beauty xxx Much love to you, your wife and children xxx

I love these videos. I do runs like this for fun and it's interesting seeing how people get into trouble out there. It's a good reminder to never get too comfy in the wilderness. As someone that goes off-trail a lot, my recommendation would be always have 2 map sources. For me I use a Garmin Fenix with offline maps, my phone with offline maps, and I'll study the area before leaving so I know the points of interest. If you're going off course and you want to be sure you can find your way back, make sure to either leave markings for yourself(stack sticks, dig a small hole, whatever) and make sure to turn around occasionally so you see what you're coming from.

Another good rule, don't do it in poor light (i.e. late in the day) or poor weather conditions. I always look at forecasts for the whole area, and start my hikes early with a plan to be done well before any light starts to wane. I've even started carrying a box of matches for a just in case scenario if an overnight unplanned stay happens.

most people I meet in swiss alps have no maps they follow the signs and markings which are often wrong, I plan much more including % of slopes of the areas I go to offline but I still get bad surprises, last hike I followed a trail that was removed from official maps, you still have the lines but they aren't official "rated" anymore, it still had red-white markings which means it's a "moderately difficult" hike, the end was at 71° aka 300% slope where I could chew the grass by just moving my head forward..well I knew to expect steep from pictures but even I was way out of my comfort zone, a woman died there 1-2 years ago now I know why, according to Strava and google earth it's a 37% slope...riiiiight thats why my left shoulder was touching the ground while standing...sure

It’s easy to understand what draws people to want to attempt to conquer these areas. I don’t ever wish to be notified that someone I care for is missing in such a remote and dangerous situation. I have so much respect for the people who search for the missing.

墜落點實在太深了！一開始尋找的方向就是對的，只是太深！空拍機飛了很多趟都沒發現，實在很不明顯，幸好最後的技術垂降賭對了！也很幸運沒錯過，大概是他知道這是最後的機會，不然要永遠睡在山上了！辛苦大家了！兄弟們搜救都要平安啊！

登高必自卑，行遠必自邇，每週從郊山開始爬起，先鍛煉腳力，慢慢的小山、攀岩活動、中級山的鍛鍊之後，再參加有經驗的高山嚮導帶領的團隊，如果有颱風警報即使已請假了，也要終止登山活動。台灣高山有四季林相之美，因為我們是亞熱帶及熱帶國家，日本韓國及歐美各國，大都是溫帶及寒帶，所以ㄅㄨㄖㄨ

The other issue is there are those who sign up to these and have zero clue about their own limitations and safety. Then that puts everyone in jeopardy when pacing is slowed down and timing is off. I used to tell people who signed up to hike with me, not to do it anymore, if I found they were lagging behind a number of times. A trail like this one in the video should have been all experience hikers for sure who could keep up with the same pace.

I truly believe any responsible hiker must take your valuable words in this video to heart: - Each hiker must be self sufficient with competent navigation skills. - Group hiking does not always ensure safety. - Prioritize learning effective navigation, including GPS device usage, rather than depending on support from others. Keep up the great work and looking forward to your next video.
