Yup, genuinely a great fight and doesn’t let you work him over too easy. Loving the difficulty. Go back to base game bosses and they seem easy now.

@@SoulsBros420 I got to the second phase, on my first try, but after the animation, I died :D I was already dead, but had knocked him into the second phase, too.

@@SoulsBros420 of course! It’s just super tedious the processes of getting him as a puppet. You also have to make sure you haven’t beaten the game because I believe you get locked out of the item you need to turn him into a puppet if you do if I remember correctly

That is correct! My level 200 is my only character I got his puppet on because it is a process lol.

I never picked those up. I'd already done his quest by the time I was able to turn him, so couldn't do it. I just wanted the prawns from the merchant, so made sure to get it done.

Yup! He only uses it like every 3rd fight and never against the last boss but the times he does heal I am thrilled!

Love that dark souls spirit! That’s what got me into PvP. Once you surpass the base game challenge with all the bells and whistles, you can make it more challenging by omitting them. The challenge is what we seek, and that kind of ruins other games for us, unfortunately. 😂

@@SoulsBros420funny enough i got ds3 way before elden ring, played 2 hours. died to the toturial boss over an over again went to do research on the topic "how to git gud" learned it lies in eldenring. played eldenring i learned mechanics and everything. beat eldenring 100% came back and still died to the toturial boss. 10/10 game.

Oh no! 😥 Keep at it-this boss has well choreographed moves, give it a good try like 25-30 times and you will probably naturally get good enough to beat him even without summons. Granted it might take closer to 45-50 in some cases if you don’t learn those kinds of things quickly. Nonetheless, if you keep at it you will win. Actually, I had the same experience. Hippo was tearing me up, while Messmer bleed out fairly easily. I was a fairly low Scadutree level when I fought Messmer so I can imagine it would be far easier if it had been 15+.

@@SoulsBros420 I think mine was lvl 13, and for messmer the thing that got me was just that he's really too fair to be ridiculously hard. His attacks are well telegraphed, he doesn't have many moves that can one shot you, and he doesn't have ridiculous resistances. Meanwhile hippo be like "IM GOING TO HIT YOU WITH THE AIR NOW JUST BECAUSE"

😂 right! The final boss is a lot like that too-never can tell when to dodge or anything. Barely beat him just tonight.

@@SoulsBros420 I had a few tries on him but I haven't really committed to making him dead yet, been busy trying to wrap up everything else first.

Yeah, the talisman only works maybe 60% of the time and each time you go in to get your licks in, he will aggro immediately so be ready to roll. Try him solo a few times to memorize his moves a little so when he comes at you, you can react with some knowledge. Don’t give up-you can do it, I believe in you!!!

Niice! I didn’t find him overly difficult either but he bleeds really easy and as long as you can dodge his one shoters it doesn’t take many tries.

Dang, that’s awesome. I put the finger lady down no issues, but Messmer gave me a run for my money. None of them compare to the final boss. The final boss is so hard I went to kill melania to activate her great rune (thinking it would help in the final boss fight) and she seemed trivial-downed her first go and wasn’t ever close to dying.

Without summons?

It works a little better on the main game bosses but still works 60%+ on the DLC bosses. Helps to take a bit of that constant heat off.

Take away his incantation seal and hard swap it on yourself after you summon your mimic-same time you take off sabriri’s woe. I always take my bow off before I summon my mimic cause otherwise he just sits in the corner and shoots a single arrow while the boss raw dogs me.

I agree and I did with my meta 150 build (no summons) this was just an easy guide for those without the time commitment to master the boss fight. Getting gud is time consuming lol

Nope, the npcs in the world you are invading never will pay you any attention. Though, bigger enemies can hurt you but never agro on just you.

For sure, there are a lot of things they could change so the host doesn’t have 99.9% of the advantage, but us invaders make due with it-which goes to show you how much more skilled PvP players are.

Oh no! Yeah in my longer video on this method, I talk about how it isn’t full proof and you still have to dodge about 40% of the time. Keep at it! It helps to fight him alone a handful of times so you know how to get out of hiding one/two shot range and let your summons step in and agro. You can do it!

Royal Knight Armor altered. You get it from trading in Loretta’s remembrance from the haligtree to the roundtable hold. Make your character slider as thin as you can to make the armor look that thin and elegant.

I thought he was decently tough before the patch, but yeah not Melania level by any means. The DLC bosses are also very quickly agro so that throws a lot of people off.

Listen, if you want to challenge yourself, by all means, but some people just want to get through the game with what little time they have, and that’s 100% acceptable. Summons are a game mechanic and no gatekeeping changes that.
