Excellent starter tutorial. I'm coming from Studio One Pro and Reason and decided to add Ableton Live to my arsenal, for its, well, live capabilities. This helped alot!

Easily the best tutorial I've seen here. Bought Ableton a couple of days ago and was VERY frustrated since english isn't my native language. You're the best. With this detailed info at least I know how to get started. Now I just need to learn how to add my Akai MPK mini 3 to the program and Akai Midimix AND Casio synthesizer as well (Also Alesis Nitro Mesh kit drums). Oh gosh!

I feel that! I started with FL then switched over to Ableton Live 9 and never looked back either! The stock Audio Effects are so good you honestly don’t even need 3rd party effects if you chose not to buy any.

The other day, I was using session view and whenever I wanted to record a new clip, the other clips in the scene would not play. That makes it difficult to keep building clips that match the others. I know it used to work in version 11. I'm guessing a setting is wrong..

a little late to this party, but very new to ableton and when i set the program to using my keyboard for the midi, and i try to use a kit. it doesn't actually trigger any of the instruments in the kit, just notes with no sound. what am i doing wrong? XD

I would not learn this piece of rubbish and go learn an instrument instead, then some music theory with some scales thrown in. You be making music in know time. PC music sounds dead.
