Gauntlet Legends! I played a LOT of that game, my college had a machine in the "games room" and it saved your character's progress. So much wasted time. Played it again recently in a barcade, if the right developer did something with it they could probably turn the franchise into a decent little Diablo-clone or even a "rogue-lite".

Duke Nukem Zero Hour is very underrated imo. I hope Night Dive or someone else does a good remaster of it for modern consoles and PC.

Shortly after this game was released I remember getting to the boat in the Victorian England level, getting squished in the water and having to restart the level. Turned the game off at that moment and haven’t played it again since.

I got the expansion pack for games that needed it, but I was always so disappointed trying to play games in hi-res mode because of the frame rate.

Duke 64 will always be king to me but this one holds a special place in my heart because when I got really close to the ending and saved, the next morning I found my older brother about to beat it and was like "how the hell did you get to the ending that fast when you haven't even started the game yet?" And he was like "I was just trying it out" We had a thing about being the first to beat a game when we were kids and he almost got me on this one but I woke up just in time to see him cheating by using my save file. He handed me the controller and I got the W. Oh and funny moment in the blimp where you said "the most dangerous area" I know why you said that but fun fact, it will blow up even if you only PUNCH 😂 I was so pissed when that happened.

This game reminds me of the Indiana Jones game with the boulder, minecart and the sound the protagonist makes when he dies. Also, remember when every game has a minecart level?

Gauntlet Legends. It's the prequel to Dark Legacy. The style is the same, although with less content. But it's a blast to play!

Super excited for the next one. Dark Legacy is just Legends with more, so I expect a happy Thab in the next vid.

Lmfao, I don't think I ever got past the 2nd or 3rd mission on this game as a kid for all the same reasons. This one really seemed to challenge your patience. I'm glad I'm not the only one that felt like I got screwed by the devs in a lot of sections.

the best way to understand "time travel" is to have a reason to do it. In the case of Duke Nukem, they were doing "ok" except imagine the first few levels were all peaceful "walking simulators" and you have to almost force yourself to locate and make use of a time machine while people call you crazy and insane. Once you get back in time there's aliens everywhere trying to conquer earth, the same alien invasion you were told about. After stopping the alien invasion you realize you can't go back to the future so but your able to send a message to the future. So you send a message to your future self telling him to use a time machine, stop the aliens, but to be careful to have a way to get back to the future. Now you should be able to go back to the beginning of this story and everything "line up" or "make sense." After all, if you stopped the "alien invasion" in the past, why would you go to the past to stop an alien invasion? And why would there be aliens in the "present/future" if you stopped them in the past?
